Just a mental image of someone dying in battle of old age is something that demands respect and raises so many questions of how this man was so good at fighting That the only thing that get killed him was literally being old.
Btw Tanjiro’s dad was also born with the mark but not the evolution of it, since he had the selfless state and the transparent world. Also if you know the breathing style of the hinokami kagura/sun breath you live a normal life the only reason Tanjiro’s dad died at a young age was because of his disease.

How often is the final Selection held? Is it every year? Because if it was, then wouldn't Tanjiro have done the final selection much earlier? Didn't he train for 2 years or something? Which means he wouldn't even have met Zenitsu or Kanao. Plus, Nezuko would still be asleep. I feel like in your story, by the time Nezuko woke up, Tanjiro would probably already be a pillar.

My personal head cannon for the mark is the sun breathing mark doesn’t reduce your age limit, because sun breathing gives really bad fevers like the mark so if you have sun breathing you will survive.

@@alessandroparrinello2551 THANK YOU! Another theory I have is that since all breathing techniques are derived from sun breathing. The sun mark is like a perfect mark, but the other mark are like imperfect, so the perfect mark doesn’t how long someone can live.

The more it grows, the shorter your life but the stronger, faster, and more durable you get, also you automatically gain transparent world even if you’re blind.

@@theorigin8537He wasn't perfected at birth, because he's still human. His body wasn't up to par just yet. But he didn't require training. Merely growing old enough, and he would be strong enough. The mark is gained from mastery over a breath style, as well as exerting it to the absolute limit and beyond. How long it grows, however, depends on exactly how much power the user is exerting. The larger the mark, the more powerful they become. And as a demon, that potential automatically increases even further.

Tanjuro never had a demon slayer mark, he simply had a birthmark. Tanjuro did have access to the See-Through World and Sun Breathing, though his frail body and lack of training would only make him stronger than a bear.

He was born with a mark it just wasn’t fully developed pretty much anyone with strong connections to sun breathing (or the kamados) are born with a mark there just not fully developed which is the case with tanjiro

I don’t think Tanjirou would put that much of trouble to muzan when they first meet, I mean yeah he is pretty strong cuz of the mark, but he still is a kid and he haven’t got that training yet, he can survive against muzan for a bit, but in that point of time I can’t see him cutting his arms faster than muzan reaction.

The point of that confrontation was muzan being in a state of fear after seeing the ghost of the man who nearly killed him and wanting to get away from that. He didn't really want to fight tanjiro because of the fear that if he did it might be the same thing that happened all that time ago.

@@melovecookie457 nah it’s just a burn mark. I think when he did the exam his mark changed to the demon slayer one but it wasn’t active. Only in the entertainment arc did it awaken to be the real deal.
