My friend visited US a few years back and he said that US is only worth living if you are rich or healthy. Unfortunately, there is no place for the sick and elderly.

I live in the UK and this is heartbreaking to watch as in the UK if you have type 1 or two diabetes everything is free and that's not just the diabetes medicine but anything you need whether it's for heart cancer anything it's all free if you have diabetes, I have 12 prescriptions every month from antidepressants 2 cholesterol and blood pressure tablets, absolutely anything is free in the UK if you have diabetes 1 and diabetes 2, i feel so strongly that a young man can die because he cannot afford medicine, people shout USA USA and people are dying and nobody will help them, I will say God bless America. Also how are NHS works is for an example if you was to earn 1500a month in sterling our government would automatically deduct from your wages on that account about £8.0 0 in sterling a week and that entitles you to be able to go to any hospital of your choice and just walk in and no matter what's wrong with you or how long you need to spend in hospital and all treatment is absolutely free no matter what, now trump wanted to buy our NHS and their was no way he was going to get it and because he didn't he just said that our NHS was no good but typical for him as his ruining the USA every day, also if your out of work everything is free including all prescriptions no matter how many you need or what there for, so up trump his a loser x I really mean this and god bless America because you need it.

In Bangladesh you could buy those insulin with 10-12 dollars. Bangladesh produce almost 98% medicines she needs. Rest she can't produce because of patent issues by US companies.

I wish they would have also touched on the cost of plasma based medications. Plasma is donated by the public and the cost of these medications for the consumer is astronomical.

The world has lost their minds to fear and greed (fear), including our medical industry. It all starts when we teach our kids to want to be a doctor so they can be millionaires, and it gets worse when doctors graduate with a million dollars in education debt. With tuition free education and universal healthcare, we'll be able to fix it all.

10:50 Revlimid (wich is 12.000 $...you heard the Wright... in the U.S. ) has a generic in Europe (lenanidomida alvogen) wich can be sold in Romania at a maximum price of 28 $ without insurance and ussualy half the price with insurance (you heard that wright) !!! How greedy can the system be in the US !?

6:23 ...my father uses the same drug and it is free of charge in Romania under the insurance and without insurance 4 pens cost 25 $ .How can this medicine cost 300$ with the insurance in USA and 1.500$ without insurance ? This does not make sense if farmacies in Romania make a profit at 25 $ a pack of 4 pens !? How corrupt it is the system in America that people who make 40.000 $ a year to not afford to live and someone who makes half of that money in Romania to afford an insurance that cover 100% of the cost of the drug ? The medical system in Romania has gaps in it but if someone dies from diabetes is only posible if that person refuses to take the drug and not because he cannot afford it . It cost less than 5$ to produce it ...why ask 1500$ to sell in the US ? People need to start a revolution against the system and only Bernie can do it !!!

Vetted international online pharmacies are just as safe as domestic ones - but a lot cheaper. In many cases, the exact same medicine sold here, such as those you may find at a local Walgreens or CVS, costs 90% less from an international online pharmacy.

My market rate trulicity is $900/mo thankfully I have insurance and its only $40. But I also have to pay for test strips, needles, lancets, lantus and humalog. And my diabetes isn't even that bad. Its really ridiculous. Insulin should not be over $50. I've rationed, re-used syringes and delayed filling needed prescriptions to save money. I don't think it should be free but it also shouldn't be $900 for one drug.

This makes me so mad. Why did the ppl who go into politics/ medicine/pharmaceutical industry go into those fields for? To kill? To be negligent?
That's all this is. Killing ppl through greed and neglect.

Even some third world countries are better when it comes to health service compare to the US.

Recently I watched a Chinese movie "Dying to Survive" which somehow shows some similarities to this episode of Fault Lines. Yes drug company do need funds to support their operation but not like this vampire blood sucking way to do. Fortunately there is plenty of alternative solutions can be found in other countries with way less cost than America. If it is a life threatening situation I think it is worth a try.

Insulin prices are freaking ridiculous...I know first hand. I'm grateful for insurance. Trulicity is $950 a month without insurance, and a vial of the insulin can cost u $300 without insurance. Insulin should be way cheaper. The fda needs to open up the market for other manufacturers to make insulin instead of only 3 greedy companies.

There are some companies that are making cheaper and affordable insulin but people do not even support them, they only want the branded stuff and complain why they can't afford. Someone made a 50$ EpiPen shot but people just want that $600 EpiPen, these people deserve to be bankrupted over their health care bill.
