Awesome video, im a new fan and subscriber, and was hooked on your stuff when i stumbled across your video on using a fresnel lens during my last minute procrastinating spurt of defiance via doom scrolling and prepper peeping before getting serious about cracking out some essays for my criminal justice and ethics class. Ive watched a few more and adore your family and how they are so supportive and laid back with you in the one you did on finding balance with familly time. You do a great job of showcasing the essence of your family life while still maintaining a barrier of privacy that is essential when doing any kind of personal uploads on the internet platform. But anyways it is the" cold ass" comment that made me have to chime in and reply to this video.......i totally grinned ear to ear as soon as you started in about the perils of winter hammock camping and the" cold ass "consequences of not having an underquilt!!! Haveing been there and done that during a moment of stubborness after an argument with my boyfriend whereas i refused to come inside the house an come to bed (not sure what i was mad about now but it must have been epic as im a lover at heart, not a fighter lol) so i stomped into the shed and drug out my hammock from it winter storage confinement( this was in the middle of fall where the days are nice in north Arkansas but get quite chilly when the sun goes down(about 50degrees i would guess on that night, possibly 45 by early morning)and i messily strung my single canvas hammock between some trees in the yard and grabbed an old beach towel and crawled in for the night and let me just say if it wasn't for the built in insulation of my hibernation preparation fat rolls or muffin stuffins as i call it....i would not have been able to carry on with my front yard protest and would have had to walk the plank of rhe porch stairs with my head hangin lol. As it was i mearly suffered a horrendously painful bout of the "cold ass" that hung on for most of the day! I was lured in finally by an apology breakfast cooked by the boyfriend and the rest is history......except it has always made me keep a running mental note pad searching for ideas to make such camping experiences with a hammock much warmer....i have so far come up with an untested idea for a prototype that uses a mylar material as a liner that reflects the heat back to the body but that also has a wool type material for the layer you lay against as the whole thing would lay on the top of your hammock insead of under and around being that my version would still form around your body once you are inside unless you use a variation that has the wood poles on each end keeping it flat and open. Im mulling over trying to modify the wiring from an electric blanket to sew between the two layer and run it via a battery backed solar panel......or for my bug out hammock.....sewing another layer of material on to the hammock with seams running across the middle (where the core of your body would be) every five inches or so , forming "tubes" between the two layers of lightweight material ,into which i can then slide a handful of handy heat hand warmers inside thus keeping the most important parts of my body from hyperthermia and possibly death in an extreme, total emergency of the apocalyptic kind( with bears, criminal serial killers, and (or) zombies). Be interesting to put both ideas through a trial and see oneday if i get the time....who knows ....but anyways i love your content and will recommend you to many friends that will also appreciate your stuff as well. Thanks for reading this small novel i unintentionally made lmao and now i have to make myself undergo a deportation from the procrastination station and finish my homework or i will fail this class horribly and then end up eventually homeless and destitute leaving me living out of the aforementioned hammock for reals! Thanks again for putting out awesome content!
Looks like a great set up. I've only done a small amount of hammock camping but one one occasion when it was summer and I didn't have a quilt but was in a -5c sleeping bag and thermals but a fog rolled in and I got so cold! A quilt is going to be a must for me in the future!
Hi there. Great video on the underquilt and blanket. Curious since it was more of a preview video have you used it and what temperature were you comfortable with and without the attached blanket? Thanks
What are the temps looking like at night? Love the bit of snow on the ground and also...nice hammock, the underquilt is a must for the winter season or you can sub with a sleep pad to save weight.
Sleep pad wouldn't be recommended. You don't want to compress that insulation. It would probably weight more too. These things are as light as a woobie. Temps been down in the 25-35 range here and there lately. Cooler up in the mountains of course.
@@MASKTactical I was saying you can substitute the underquilt for a sleeping pad that's what's worked for me and my $20 summer hammock. Then again temps at night only get down to 40s here. Anything colder I'd like more insulation on the bottom of the hammock.
notification sqd, reppin'! that's a nice system you demo'd. what is the weight limit on the basic out of the box setup? thanks for sharing, Cmdr.-Scout
great video! debating this vs dutch's. Wondering if your dog sleeps with you in the hammock or separately? I struggled on my first attempt to keep my husky with me, only made it about 30-40 minutes since he loves the ground

I mentioned all the specs near the end. 1500-2klbs is the breaking strength on the rope.

I have never tried with him in it. He hates being picked up and would freak out. He's a pretty old feller now and he just likes to chill.
Wow, nice review and editing...how did you do all those cool (tactical) pullout labels at the end?
Thanks! Those are called call out titles. They're just key framed animated title generators. (That might sound nerdy but it's actually quite simple.)
good review i did a review for my channel as well very well made gear..good video..safe journeys
Thanks man!
