Such a sick album. Been a fan for a long time, since I first heard your playing on "Ghost In The Machine" which is still one of my favorite instrumental pieces of all time.
It has really been a horrible year for me, I am going through the worst moments of my life. but, my favorite guitarist dropped his album today. In a few hours my favorite band (mechina) will release their new album too. It was a bad year, not a bad life, destiny tells me that this year will be a thousand times better. Paul, thank you very much, really, this is a really valuable gift for me. I'm about to leave places, people, moments that I loved. But for everyone's sake, I'm leaving. 2023 is welcoming me to my new life.

Just needed some amazing music today from one of my favorite dudes out there! Top of the morning to you Paul my friend! Finally got myself a 7 string guitar a few weeks ago. Initially I thought well since I’ve played for over 35 years this’ll be no problem and I can finally do all those great songs from Wardingham! 😂 Boy did I eat those words lol. That darn low B string is really throwing my perception off mightily. I’m not giving up!!! Just don’t expect me to be able to play rhythm for you on tour any time soon Paul lol. Miss you my friend! I am not worthy haha. I have spent half of my life trying to reach lead guitar skills like this and am not even close. I feel super lucky to have inspirers like you, Andy James, and Syndrone constantly giving me motivation to push myself to get better. Keep it up brother.
Congrats! I really, really celebrate the riffs and solos and the synth work so hard! But: Paul, it's time for you to really have a REAL session drummer at this stage of your carreer! Unfortunately, as a drummer myself, I can only half enjoy your material when I see how much more potential the whole thing still would have with real human drum work and a great drum sound. Your riffs deserve better than this! (Cheers, a fan of yours for over 10 years now)
Thanks Matthias! Yeah of course it would be great to have a drummer involved. I’d also love someone else to do the mixing and mastering, and even work with a producer! The reality is, I barely make enough financially from each album to justify making another one. Paying other people is not an option at this point in time.

There was a copyright issue with the Ghost In The Machine remix, which stopped the release to Itunes/Spotify etc.. very annoying, but it's been sorted out. Should be this week.
What comes first in your mind, the melody, or the riff? How do you approach song writing? I have so many questions. It would be cool if you had a "making of a song" video for plebs like me.
Tbh it can be anything. Riff or melody on guitar. Drum groove might start either. A synth sound or melody I come up with keyboard. Often something will just pop into my head. From there I work with drums and build the song from there. Usually start with intro, verse or chorus.
Desert racer is still my favorite song by you but when around @4:37 hit it became my second favorite. The keys and harmonies really struck a note because it reminded me of teenage mutant ninja turtles: turtles in time ost.
