Well, just finished listening to the whole thing again. I 100% hear path of apotheosis in here, and oh God how I have missed it. This album is what I've always wanted old man's child to sound like. The guitars are absolutely breath taking and mixed perfectly. Drums are a machine gun right to my soul. Hats off to you, Mike.
Valdrin and Oubliette are currently the cream of the crop of melodic black/death metal. Buy their stuff guys, not only to support the artists in this horrible digital era, but to treat yourself with amazing and truly dedicated extreme music.
I'd check out the following few selections Ulcerate MGLA Veil of Pnath Hauntologist Ghost Bath I find the newer varieties of BM infusions are all tasty delights
Honestly, life hasn't been great for me, but this album is a good reminder that life can still be enjoyable. I love the atmosphere you guys give...... It's unique. Inspires me to play more guitar :^) Much love, a (currently) troubled individual
This album was created when some of us were going through a lot of the same feelings. Emily was in the pits of despair when we recorded the vocals for the album. We'll be sharing more about this later, but I'm glad we could inspire you through the music!
Andrew here. Very sorry to hear things aren't going great, but I'm glad hear this music has been able to give some relief and inspiration. Looks like Mike beat me to it, lol, but I wanted to echo the same thing. 1 of my grandmothers died right around the time I started recording my parts for the album. Even though I'd already prepared my parts, that sadness was there at the back of my mind. Then, just 3 weeks ago, I lost my other grandmother. This time, the mixed album was ready for release, and listening through has been therapeutic for me, & I'm glad to hear that's been a positive thing for you. I hope the album can continue to be that reminder for you & help to conquer your troubles. Best wishes & Good Luck!
Chris from Oubliette here. I’m sorry life hasn’t been kind lately. To echo what Mike and Andrew have said, life threw us all into the pits during the making of the album. Not long after I joined the band, right around the time we started writing, I lost my dad to cirrhosis. I was still somewhat reeling from losing my Mom in 2016 so my life was turned completely upside down. I’ve struggled a lot with mental health issues and suicidal thoughts since then. Writing and finishing this album was perhaps my biggest motivation day to day. It’s what kept me from giving up most days. Your comment means so much to me. Thank you for listening! Things will get better friend.
A beast of an album. So ominous, memorable and beautiful. And that drums 😋 Edit: After a month of listening I must admit that Eternity Whispers is a true masterpiece. I return to it at every opportunity. Thank you, Oubliette.
It appears music is going back to its roots and finding what made artists love their craft again. Evident of TBDM, a heavy inspiration for Inferi, continuing their creations and staying true to their sound like a true Artisan. Malcolm, I have been a long critique of what you've made and the bands that you've signed. But let it be known that the world is waiting. Waiting to hear the next The Path of Apotheosis, a pinnacle of metal. Yet so far has your music strayed to that Flame. If the TBDM could stay true to their music, why couldn't Inferi and all the past bands you've signed in the past 5 years. Mike has rekindled his flame through this album. I await what Malcolm's flame could create once more.
I don’t always listen to black metal, but when I do, it’s Oubliette.
For real though this is so good!

They sound more like a fresh take on melodic death metal than black metal. Nonetheless, this album is a gem, melodic yet heavy!
Sometimes I'm not sure I still like black metal until I hear Oubliette or Demon King those bands are the essence of what I love in Black Metal.
I recommend Numenorean if you like this because it sounds very inspired by them ;)
@@wimsmekens I will, thanks.
new Vale of Pnath has some great black metal vibes
I'd check out the following few selections

Hauntologist
Ghost Bath

I can’t believe they are no longer a band. They were phenomenal.
Easily my album of the year. The production of this record has blown me away. The guitar layering is beyond perfect. Great job guys!!
Masterpiece!
"With Death's Shadow" intro has a hint of Opeth in there! Love it.
