But the Spirit and Passion has been long gone. Trance took Techno to Melodic heights in the 90's/ now Techno will take Trance back to Hell.
SHM - One. Prior the Magik period he had been influenced by Belgian trance clubs and Sven Vath style melodic techno.... from leaving trance in 2009 Tiesto wanted to go more into electro/indie direction ok fair enough... but this last decade? It’s a result of records like Swedish House Mafia - One... simple, anthemic tracks, that get picked up even outside the club for media, tv, sports events... just a mixture of jingles and drops that appease the crowds with a short 30s melody they can hum along to... this is what it’s become. Fair play to the guy.. it’s a shame, but as an artist - it’s never fun just standing still or being pigeonholed. He found a new inspiring sound. Maybe one we don’t agree with, but hey, at least we got these old sets and compilations to listen to 😆 I’d like to think if tiesto was still in “trance” he wouldn’t be touching anything blackhole or armada put out, cos it’s all the cookie cutter shite mass produced crap... he would be digging in the crates finding really melodic energetic tracks in the peak techno genre and playing them in trance sets... Labels like Arts, DSR Digital, Planet Rhythm, just like he did 20 years ago with Clockwork, Lupp more harder German and Dutch stuff... Personally I think the ISOS branding killed his love for the trance sound...it got too mellow, it was all the same La Noche melancholy guitar crap, some guys all commissioned to writing a new track every year so it can go on a cd... etc.... the best sets of those latter trance years were always the underground parties when he could play more than just trance.... but I digress... 😆
Year 2024 we are here for the best tiesto mixes.

Fair play to the guy.. it’s a shame, but as an artist - it’s never fun just standing still or being pigeonholed. He found a new inspiring sound. Maybe one we don’t agree with, but hey, at least we got these old sets and compilations to listen to 😆
I’d like to think if tiesto was still in “trance” he wouldn’t be touching anything blackhole or armada put out, cos it’s all the cookie cutter shite mass produced crap... he would be digging in the crates finding really melodic energetic tracks in the peak techno genre and playing them in trance sets... 😆
бессмертный микс, ведь столько лет прошло, но включаешь и всё как в первый раз
