Well played mate. One of the few lower handicap players who regularly uploads stroke play and plays to it. You and Fents should do a 2 v 2 against some subscribers.
Love the format of your videos. No mucking about, just getting on with it. Your driver and iron play looks spot on. I was surprised though with your bunker play, was it just a bad day in the bunkers.
Thanks mate. It struggles with the rain I think so it hasn't been the year for it I'm guessing. Although I've probably only played it over the last 12 months
Fents, Alright Tiger, lol. GUR was the whole bunker. As usual Fents knows what he's talking about. Think about if you would have holed that out on your 2nd shot on 14. Great job breaking 80!
Great video, I have been watching you stuff a while now. You have done great to get under 10. I am a 10.3 after 3.5 years. If you and fence ever get over to Holland give me a shout. I would love to have a round with you lads.
I think the iron shafts are regular Barry. Thanks though, I have actually been working on not rushing my swing so much, especially from the top. So it's cool you've noticed 👍
Single Digit Handicap! Nice One Luke. VLog entertaining as ever. Well done breaking 80 On the yellows at Cookridge (Crsde 69.5, Slope 128). Impressive.
It's an Odyssey Toulon Austin I think it's called mate. Appreciate it! I've probably put more time into golf over the last 3 years than I should have haha
Well played and very entertaining. You had me cracking up when you hit a second ball on that par 3 and stuck it close……My playing partners have a nick name for me, “Second Shot Scott!” I would go from a 17 hcp to a scratch if I could play my second ball!😂
Not bottling a round with the birdies 🙌 followed my bird up with a quad last week, back to back bird was so smooth. Break 75 on the horizon collab with Rick haha😊
@@UpDownGolf no not at all I like how you both bounce of each other and we get to see both your reactions when you hit a good shot or put and of course the bad shots 😂 mate.
very nice man. thats one of my literal life goals haha if I could hit my longer/medium irons as well as you Id be right there with you haha broke 85 this year which was my yearly goal so I have that going. good round. just goes to show you dont have to be anywhere near perfect to play good golf
Thanks Derek! And congrats on breaking 85! 👊 That's been the biggest surprise to me too as my scores have come down, you don't have to play perfectly to shoot good scores
Great knock mate. I’m a 9.0 handicap and this is very similar to how all my rounds look. How hard is it to just eliminate those doubles and par 5 bogeys!! Feels so close yet so far, but still great golf
Cracking round!! 👏🏼 Think I may of previously missed it, but well done on hitting single figures 💪🏼 I’m playing off 12 at the moment, working pretty hard on trying to reach what Ava’s so far been an illusive target.
Thanks dude! It's one of those things where you find something clicks and you drop 2/3 shots. I think it was actually tightening up my putting that did it for me tbh. Keep grinding mate! 👊
@@UpDownGolf thanks mate, will do 💪🏼…one day maybe I’ll get there🤞🏼 Funny you should say about working on your putting, have recently been working on distance control to cut out three putts. Just need to start reading the breaks better now 😅
Wee wobble in the middle there Luke but u kept the heed and played some really good golf there at the end so well done u 👏🏻👏🏻 , good watch that 👍🏻🏴⛳️
@@UpDownGolf every golf course has a 'slope rating' dependant on that particular golf courses difficulty, you enter your hcp into the slope rating and it gives you a shot allowance for that round(done before play). The slop is also different for the yellow and white tees.
Hi Luke, I was on the practice range at Wakefield Golf Club the other night and spotted you and Woody on the 16th tee, what did you think to the course? I think its in good nick at the moment, was nice to see you just enjoying a round without the cameras out if im not mistaken!
I've got to ask, how much time have you committed in ways of leasons/short game practice/putting practice and driving range time? I'm not expecting an exact answer but the speed you have managed to cut your handicap at is astounding
Interestingly enough - you had the 70 yard shot a bunch of times and came up short. It may be worth finding a 70 yard shot or leaving yourself the exact # you want in. Still VERY well played. I struggle w/ the 75 yard # a lot. I tried every half wedge so i just leave myself at 100 or 50.
I don't think I agree Robert. At least half of the time I was around pin high, long once or twice and short the rest. If I aimed for the back of the green I'd have been at the back of the green at least half of the time, once or twice really long and the rest pin high
@@UpDownGolf i mean when youre 120 yards plus away from the green when i started doing this i went from 85s to 80 81 still not into the 70s yet but it will come i usually have a rubbish front 9 and then a 38 39 back lol
Well played Luke… always impressed by how far you’ve come in such a relatively short time!
Appreciate it John!

Thanks dude, appreciate that!
Fair play mate great round. I’d say you’re probably the only mid handicap RUclips golfer with an accurate handicap.
😂 Thanks Sam
great round Luke the best ive seen you play mate, the whole game was solid
Appreciate Paul! Thanks for watching 👍
Love the format of your videos. No mucking about, just getting on with it.
Your driver and iron play looks spot on. I was surprised though with your bunker play, was it just a bad day in the bunkers.
A bit of both I'd say actually. I haven't practiced in sand for a while and it's catching up with me. Thanks for watching!
Nice job, Luke. Your driver has gotten so much more consistent. Great to see!
Thanks! It still has a few wayward days 😂
Fantastic stuff - Well played.
Really enjoyed Fents face when you got your ball inside his 😀.
😂 I live to wind him up Mark
It's awesome to see how good you are playing Luke!
Thanks dude! Appreciate that 👊
2 Mins in. that editing is 🔥
🙌 Appreciate that mate!
One of my top 5 channels 😊
🙌 Appreciate that Burkwood!
Very well played Señor Luke! Cookridge is a testing course with some odd holes, surprised at how scabby it looked actually!
Thanks mate. It struggles with the rain I think so it hasn't been the year for it I'm guessing. Although I've probably only played it over the last 12 months
@@UpDownGolf interesting, played it last year around June time and it was in good nick so you're probs right
Some good looking swings going on, looks effortless! Great score
Thanks Andy! Appreciate it 👊
Great round - solid club striking.
Thanks dude!
Played well 👏
Cheers Jamie!
Awesome round, congrats!
Thanks Ryan!
Good playing. Congrats.
Thanks Dane!
Great round Luke!
Thanks Jeff!
Well played. Good ball striking all the way round. An enjoyable watch!
Cheers dude!
Fantastic skills!!
Must use "fenta-fade" more in my golf parlance!!!!
Thanks John! Haha yes definitely do 😂
Driving beautifully Luke and your putting was good too.
Thanks Brian! Course knowledge helps a lot too I think
@@UpDownGolf You're too modest; that was great - you must have been chuffed.
Good to see you today! Hope you enjoyed your wrap? Ever fancy a round near Leeds? I’m up for it?
Good to meet you too Michael! You can't beat a Yorkshire wrap 👌 Appreciate the invite, I'll keep it in mind 👍
Congrats on the Desmond!!
😂 Love it Neil 👍
Great round!
Thanks dude!
Very nice video and great golf. Luke your play continues to improve keep at it. 👍👍👍
Thanks dude! Appreciate that 👍
Great effort in the last 6 holes, well stuck at it! 👏🏻
Thanks Mark! Appreciate it 👊
I like how you dont pretend to be a pro. My best is an 85 havent played for a few years but looking to get back into it
Appreciate you watching Ice, hope you pick the clubs up again 👍
Nice work and great job, beautiful course well done👍👌💪👊
Thanks Timbo 👍
Great round Luke 👍
Thanks Graham!
Well done mate good solid round of 79 , really good last 4 holes .
Thanks Andy, appreciate it
Really well played, impressed by your course management and risk/reward attitude. Trying to do the same myself, it's definitely a learning curve 😂
Thanks Steinar, still trying to get better at it myself 👍
Another great video lads
Thanks!
Well done 👏 good player come a long way
Appreciate it Dave!
great round !!
Thanks!
Fents, Alright Tiger, lol. GUR was the whole bunker. As usual Fents knows what he's talking about. Think about if you would have holed that out on your 2nd shot on 14. Great job breaking 80!
Yeah I didn't think about that at all tbh 😅 That would have been the worst first/not really hole in one ever haha
Loved it!
Thanks!
Great vid pal ..Have you ever played garforth or normington ?
Thanks! I plan to play Garforth soon, I've heard good things. I've played Normanton a few times though 👍

Do you play stiff shafts or regular in your irons luke .... interested to know because your swing is smooth
I think the iron shafts are regular Barry. Thanks though, I have actually been working on not rushing my swing so much, especially from the top. So it's cool you've noticed 👍

What a nickname Scott! 😂 Love that. You're dead right though, that second ball is always so much better
Not bottling a round with the birdies 🙌 followed my bird up with a quad last week, back to back bird was so smooth. Break 75 on the horizon collab with Rick haha😊
Ahh Jack! Nothing more frustrating that seeing both ends of your game in only 2 holes is there. Haha the dream mate! 😂
Next video if possible can we see both of your shots in the same video would be lovely to see it and another great video as always luke.
Thanks Leigh! It would make the video about 80-90 mins long, would that not put you off?
@@UpDownGolf no not at all I like how you both bounce of each other and we get to see both your reactions when you hit a good shot or put and of course the bad shots 😂 mate.

do you play the slope rating relative to your hcps?
Do you mean the tees?

Ahh I'm with you. We would do that if we were playing stableford for example. Not just for a casual round like this
nice round, cheeky wee sub 80 as well 👏

It was us Liam 👍 We've played it a number of times before actually, I really like it. One of my favourites around Leeds tbh
Your hit off the 15th is the story of my game. So many times that has happened to me.
Drives you mad doesn't it
Brilliant Luke, definitely the potential to shave a few shots off as your wedge distance control was a bit inconsistent. Great watch as usual 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Wedges weren't great at all were they, totally agree. Thanks Humble!

I've done a video recently actually where I talk about just this, might be worth checking it out 👍 It's called 'Beginner to 8.8 Handicap...'
Luke trimming his hdcp all the time, good job.
Appreciate it mate!

You're spot on mate, definitely need to find a way of playing those fiddly distances better 👍
Why not a 4W or 5W instead of a 2I? How are you able to hit that thing?
I'm not a massive fan of woods tbh mate. Much prefer hitting an iron
BULLY!
What?
always play for the back of the green because % wise you always leave it short or well short
