Good job. I have tossed my money in, but I’m concerned that at this rate the game might not be funded. I check every day, but the numbers aren’t looking good.
Thank you! I'm wondering that too, but the project is already 1/4 funded 10 days in. I think it might not be exactly what the fans wanted, such as the miniatures being unpainted and not having any historical squads (eg. gladiators, Vikings, soldiers). I think another thing working against this compared to HeroQuest is that this is a brand new master set, while HQ was a reproduction of the exact same game with a few bonuses added on.
It's officially back and releases this month!!!
I was happy until I saw the miniatures. Until the miniatures get painted I won't be supporting a heroscape revival attempt.
I wonder how Renegade's version of the relaunch will go, and if Avalon Hill is allowed to provide them with some of the assets (even if things are broken down into packs with individual squads/troops). It also isn't clear yet if they will be painted, but I will agree that having the game painted and ready to play out of the box was definitely one of the initial draws of the game
Seems random that this came up in my feed today. Especially as this sadly failed. Hopefully, they will try again in a few years when I'm not broke (both financially & physically).
The good news if you had not heard is I'm able to walk again (lost half the summer & all of fall) I still got a limp but that's better then when I had a broken leg & was on crutches. The surgery was expensive, I had 7 screws put in my leg, but my surgeon did a great job. I only felt 3 pokes & I was asleep for the worst part.
It is curious how RUclips is still recommending this video to some people, well after the campaign failed to reach its goal. It's great to hear you've regained mobility! Walking is one of those things that most people (myself included) take for granted because it is so important to get from place-to-place, yet is done without even thinking about it.
@Sirdeathvids Kinda cool to see this pop up and imagine the alternate timeline where AH's version funded.
They needed to have multiple options for levels that you wanted to pay for. If it was 150 I'd be in without a thought. 250 for unpainted models is a bit too much
That was definitely a disadvantage of doing it on Hasbro Pulse. Unlike Kickstarter where people can pitch in small amounts of money to simply support the project, it's all-or-nothing. I wonder if it would have made more sense to break some of the individual armies off into separate crowdfunding campaigns, since the general consensus was that most people had more than enough terrain pieces from the early 2000s version.

That's one disadvantage of Hasbro Pulse: it's all in or nothing. I've seen on Kickstarter that there are some tiers where a small donation can be sent to support the project

That seems to be a change that happened since Renegade took over the project, because the armies were intended to be coloured plastic (like HeroQuest units) when Avalon Hill initially presented the HasLab campaign.

That is one unfortunate thing about HasbroPulse. Rather than letting you donate a few dollars simply to support the project, it's either all-or-nothing when pledging.

In hindsight it might be good in the long-run, just due to WotC's actions and some people boycotting Hasbro. I think it would be a lot worse if it was funded and people began to cancel their orders (if the cancellation window was still open) due to another of Hasbro's subsidiaries. I have no clue if Avalon Hill will ever try again, but I like the suggestions that other people made of selling just the individual armies, especially when all the people who own the previous 2 master sets have a sufficient amount of terrain.

For sure! From what I had heard, the people who had the previous 2 master sets (the main demographic for the crowdfunding campaign) had a sufficient amount of tiles. They didn't need any more, which would have brought the price point of the offering down
@@Sirdeathvids well, the thing is with the rampant success HeroQuest has had since relaunch, HeroScape easily could have been made as a wargame expansion. Entire scenarios built to compliment HeroQuest and stand alone would have been killer.

I did upload this October 9th, 2022, but if RUclips just showed this to you now then yeah I'd say it's a tad late. I'm guessing that with Renegade Games recently revealing their versions of the sets, RUclips is serving this video to new people

Avalon hill updated the base colors to look even better based on feedback, check them out on the blog. They look great!
I do like the new colors, though it's interesting to see how the Pulse page still has the old colour scheme. I like the redesigned page there as well; it's a shame that the campaign page didn't look like that on day 1

No problem! While Avalon Hill's revival was unsuccessful, I'm curious to see how Renegade Games tackles the challenge, and how the community responds to it
