As a fellow Blk k-Pop Stan I hear the same. I don't even have a channel but I hear the same things. "Why like them/support them? You're Black, they would never like/choose you.". When I tell them " it's not about that, it's about who they are as artists, their messages to their fans and what they stand for. They spread love, caring, positivity and perseverance. It heals me." Then they say, "Girl, why you looking to a bunch of Asian boys for that? Don't you get that here?". Blink...blink. 2020 opened my eyes to a lot of things as an American. It's one of the lowest years I've ever had. I became a stan in March of 2020. BTS, Stray Kids, and Ateez (also TXT and Enhypen) have truly been my safe haven. Some channels are really funny, like yours, some are fantasy and relaxing, some are healing and therapeutic and I've learned so much. You are all a blessing to me. 💖🤗
@@StrayPotato I'm sorry your friends and family are all pushing you to monetize your channel when that's not your focus. Living in a country where some are rich, but most are struggling, or lying about it, everyone's focus is money. It has to be. I'm not justifying them at all and you should only do what makes YOU HAPPY with YOUR CHANNEL. It just reminds me of what Hyunjin said in that Vlive where a Stay asked "Would you rather have happiness or $1 million (or some big amt). Hyunjin easily said happiness and was baffled when Stays said the million. He asked why and they answered happiness doesn't pay bills, if we had a million we could buy the things we needed to be happy. The sigh and the look of understanding and yet slight pity he gave as he nodded and said one word--- capitalism. Once I really thought about it, that hit hard. It's a system built to always keep you wanting and needing more. That happiness is something that can only happen once you have this or reach this certain level. Then that changes. Focus on your education, your self care and your happiness. That's all you need to do. Doing those things and being that example to your siblings is the best way you can help them. 💖

I always used to be sad and disappointed coz of this judgemental, typical, selfish society I started getting depressed But It was Kpop who made me confident and raised my freaking standards higher than my grades
Basically my friends reaction to me not monetizing this channel and the identity crisis I went through.
