I disagree. I don't think a man would throw his wife out the first time she challenged him. This sounds like my story of 18yr marriage. Except I believed her until she said she was leaving. Yrs later I learned she was a 403 through out our marriage. I worked a dangerous job that allowed plenty of OT hours to give my family a great lifestyle. I bet it was slowly getting more flagrant in challenging the boundaries. After x left I kept everything and the teenage kids. I never allowed another woman the opportunity to challenge respect rules of a relationship that I also lived by. These were single mom's with kids that and I had no problem excepting it. I had house and 6 figure income. I finally met an immigrant and it's been 24yrs with her bringing 2 kids to America and now citizens and great ones.

I would also add if you plan to stay in the US look into the common-marriage laws in your state. Not all states recognize it and not all states have the same requirements. In Texas (since I live here) I could live with a woman for 40 years and so long as we have no shared assets Texas won't recognize it as a marriage. Other states will recognize it simply by living together for X amount of years.

I am baffled by how fast humanity is backsliding during the "Information age". My ex torpedoed me after ten years together, I knew I was getting a raw deal but I drove her back east so she "could "find herself" that was 8 years ago, I decided there must be something uncommon with me, therefore totally deleted my desire for any sort of validation from others. Peace comes when you realize not one person on this mudball has it all figured out. And those that tell you they do, ARE con artists, run, don't walk from them.
