Nine Track Mind (the album this song is a part of) isn't Charlie's favorite work, he was into so much pressure to release the album (it got delayed, actually, don't remember if it was once or twice), because he wasn't sure of who he was and what kind of music he wanted to make, but they couldn't wait any longer or they'll miss the "perfect timing" with all the hype on See You Again right then.
And seeing how elaborated his music is right now, having a sight on how his brain works and how he creates and little bits of his whole proccess, I can understand why that happens.
Even though I don't agree because NTM has great songs, not so elaborated and very cliché - wich I love -, but his voice is a masterpiece, it has feelings and it's passionate and it's my fave

@@SuffiReax the songs on Nine Track Mind weren't produced by Charlie and the songs were written by a bunch of people cause the record label wanted to release the album asap since See you again was such a big hit. In many interviews, Charlie says this album doesn't represent him and he even said that considers Voicenotes his first album.
