A day like today really puts into everything into perspective, and seeing the outpouring of love from across (and beyond!) the sport is amazing, and particularly from rival fans. Sometimes it’s too easy to get caught up in the tribalism and think of your rival fans as the “enemy” when in reality they are just the same as you. There should be no enemies when it comes to football, only rivalries, and at the end of the day after the match is over there should be nothing but love and respect for your fellow man.

Brilliant work in this video, Mark. You didn't have to do this but you're a football fan as much as a Manchester United fan. In terms of the personal dimension of the tragedy and Diogo Jota's legacy as a footballer you summed it up perfectly. He wasn't appreciated as much as Salah or De Bruyne but his contribution to Liverpool is underestimated in the wider context. And you're right that injuries stopped him from being a regular player. I saw him as being like a Portuguese version of Ian Rush or John Aldridge. He had that positional sense only the great goal poachers have and the only positive from this tragedy is that as a footballer in his last games for Liverpool and Portugal he won medals and trophies and in his personal life he married his girlfriend. The moments of joy in life can be all too brief and they are precious.
Again, well done on this video.
