Even though Richard Dawson & producer Mark Goodson constantly clashed,Family Feud's initial run on ABC & in syndication certainly didn't end because he wasn't popular, that's for sure.
That's how the show used to be... Richard talking and meeting the conestants used to be half the show alone instead of the game... today Harvey doesn't spend so much time greeting contestants and they just play xD I personally like the newer version more.
Does anyone know why & when the point total was raised to 500 points for a family to win the main game? I remember when this version of "Family Feud" started, the first family to rack up 200 points won the main game, & was later raised to the standard 300 points. Bravo, on this, your last show of the original "Feud", Sir Richard! A clean sweep in the main game!
funny you mention that, there was actually a contestant you said the same thing to dawson. "You kiss old ladies? You must be hard up!" Dawson was stunned! :D
This show was taylor made for richard dawson. Others were very good. No one can come close to his unshakeble self confidence. self confidence is a magnet. people wanna be with those kinds of persons. Epic Swag.
Dawson was the best. But to be fair, the first Feud host I remember seeing was Ray Combs. I didn't see Dawson until after I first got in 2001. But I liked them both. And John O'Hurley's done okay IMO. By the way, what was the win amount? It had to be more than 300 since the Mackins had a 250-0 nothing after three questions.
haha, the little part about spam x'D
Feud was,is,and always be Richard's crown jewel.

@ 3:50 - 3:54 "Try not to have your birthday while in Korea" LMAO!
I liked how they stopped the clock after the contestant said "80." They must have accurately predicted the response that answer would receive!
@KodyBoy555 They started with the Combs version's first show in '88.

@mcog2006 No - Richard started doing it because, he says, his mom always kissed him for luck.

80 brought down the house
time constraints.
@freelan45 That was complete and total domination.
400 was required in the final season.
But when Family Feud returned in 1988, they reset the point goal to 300.

No, but it was for THIS game show host...
the brother on the end is hot
"the bottem part"
Should never have seen the spoilers :(
Yeah this was some of the best gameplay at least in the history of the first run of Feud. Too bad the Mackins only had one shot at it.
I iuuuuurr.
Dawson (on President Reagan) @9:13
.........Yeah. I'd say he looks about 65; I think his neck looks about 90
3:16 that bro is hot!
Was it always custom for a gameshow host to kiss a female contestant?
Is It just me or did they rush through this game?
Spoiler ALERT
