@Mohamed Sherif Tayashi Yes, there is a certain juxtaposition of styles on the part of each of the 2 lead guitarists, American-born AL ANDERSON, whose background was in blues, & Jamaican-born, UK-raised JUNIOR MARVIN also; both guitarists added an element of blues-rock & R&B lead guitar, which is what Marley wanted, a "wailing" sound with a tough edge to it... However, both players are working very much to play within the reggae groove, but they also tease, cajole, & bend funky off-beat accents, with Anderson more faithfully riding & embellishing the groove, & Marvin hitting 'off-beat attacks' that are at times 'pitted against the groove', which is in a way the rule in reggae, that every instrument is doing something off-beat, compared to, say, 4-beat rock or other "downbeat music", in reggae, every instrument does something off-beat or "reversed", even the bass & drums... So the lead guitars are definitely responding to the groove, but they dance in between the beats & also accent off beat.
It was a style adopted by Chris Blackwell to sell Bob Marley and his product Reggae which was not known to the world like Rock or Pop music way back then . The 70s was the era of electric guitar and Jimmy Hendrix and the world especially Europe drifted towards Rock . So Chris coloured the not so Popular Reggae music with a touch of Rock provided by the rock guitar and style . Hence Bob Marley called the style " Root Rock Reggae" .
Bob Marley I saw him in Turin nearly 100.000 people in the Olympic stadium. I remember two massive towers of Marshall speakers the power of the drums and bass bursting your lungs the vibrations of reggae huuuuuuaaaaaaoooo what a memorable day never forget, 18 years old. the best music around from Reggae to real Rock, so many concerts live From Aswad, Peter Tosh, Sly & Robbie, Burning Spear, to Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Genesis, The Police. I saw them all, most of them for free after asking the company to help build the stage. That was real music I can look back and I can say I really enjoy my young age and time well spent.
Bob Marley Al Anderson junior mavin Austin family man Peter tosh they were masters of guitars🎸 they really understand music this talents will never exist in this world again
I was at the late show that night. He did one at 7:30 and one at 10:30 pm. He was very lively for most of the show. The band was great and they sounded amazing at the Music Hall. I remember at one point about a quarter of the way through the show you could see a cloud of smoke against the white lights. Everyone was lighting up. Excellent footage. Brings back memories~ Rob/Boston
Amount of time wasted on cut scenes for an already limited 'official' family release is a bit out of hand .............. Shame it's so out of hand ---- the Bob Marley 'brand', exploited for every possible penny Makes me physically sick to see shitty headphones at Walmart marketed as 'Bob Marley' ............ Come on man, get it together Marleys, and manage Bob's legacy with the utmost class if nothing else GLADLY pay for the music /footage, but backbiting strategy is sad Sorry for ranting off---- just hits a nerve seeing choppy video & audio we've had for years considered a huge release....... Still not a lick of real non-Zimbabwe Africa 1980 footage!!!! Blessings brother........ thank you for sharing
I agree with you 100 percent. Bob Marley the man and the music is what people want. His work lives on and stands alone. The family is just farming off the name to stay rich. Anyway. This is just refreshing
I love that scat section, where he sings "you gon' rock you gon' roll, tonight". It is like part of Bill Haley and the Comets "Rock Around the Clock". Showing the connections between, Blues , Rock'nRoll and Reggae.
Magnifique soliste maîtrise à la perfection sa guitare pour que les notes musicales concorde au raisonnement du style de ce genre de musique et à la synchronisations avec l'ensemble des instruments
Saw BMW in 1978 at the Houston Music Hall. I was 17. I'm 61 now and that concert is on my list of the great things I have done in my life.
Junior was great but the first guitar solo was Al Anderson. For ther rest I have no other words.....Bob was the greatest. RIP and Jah bless ya.
Literally BOBMARLEY is the best musician this world has ever have
I was one month old , this song is over 42 years old and I’m jamming to it in 2020 ‼️

it's what Frank Zappa called 'spoo' ;-)
This is the actual role of a lead guitar.

Bob Marley should be able to come back to life and give one big last concert so I can be there 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Junior Marvin is the main man in this performance!
After Bob perhaps...
actually Al Anderson did the first solo. Junior played first muted guitar with the bass and did a solo at the middle
