Oh my gosh...Toni is going to be teared out by the end of this one...she will be crying non stop with every single emotion bursting out. I am sure she will love it, but it will be a ten tissue experience for her 100 percent. LOL
Yes! Though it starts with an almost identical situation, it's a pretty different movie & there's so much drama! Can't say more cause it would spoil plot lines.

Toni don't ever change, you remind me of my mom, she cried at movies like this too and over a lot of things, we called her a bleeding heart. I miss her a lot sometimes
I love this movie so much! it's been 26 years since it came out in 1998, and I've seen it hundreds of times... I still cry at the end. Every. Single. Time. Your reaction was fantastic! Can't wait for the next one! ❤
When Eddie Griffin and his dog appears that's when the destruction starts! That whole sequence would not stop playing on TV months before it was released. It was so incredible!
Don't worry Toni, you're not alone in shedding a tear to this one. In fact, when the producers were trying to convince Aerosmith to record the theme 'I don't want to miss a thing' they showed this scene 39:56 to Steve Tyler, the bands lead singer and Liv's father. He had the same reaction as you to seeing his daughter calling for her daddy he broke down and finally agreed.
This was just a pure big fun movie to see at the theater. "Could that really happen?" The things I know about... The things I know are about to happen, but it would just stir up debate in chat. Nothing quite so all-life-ending as how this scenario could have played out, but big nonetheless. Anyone wanting to know, "suspiciousobservers"
David mentioned that and that she came out on The Lord of the Rings. I didn't realize that she had a sister that was also an actress. I'll need to go so some research. I enjoyed the closing song. - Toni 🤓
The song at the end and the music video that David remembers is by the band Aerosmith. Liv Tyler is the real life daughter of Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler.
18:20, watching this launch at the movie theaters was epic. The sounds, the fury and old glory flapping in the breeze. Michael Bay knows how to sell it.
DEEP IMPACT is a similar movie that came out around the same time... It's more about the people on earth and less about the space mission. It's more drama-y and less action-e, but still a great movie.
I'll defend this movie against anyone....nearly the perfect blockbuster film. Action, Comedy, Drama....it's got it all. Very fun to watch and hits you in the feels big time.
Toni's reaction to the list of demands by the devil crew was hilarious. Forgive parking tix, who killed Kennedy, pay no taxes again, EVER!!! -------- Daniel can't wait to join Harry's drill team. Toni, not so much.
Liv Tyler (Bruce Willis daughter in the movie) is Steve Tyler’s (lead singer of Aerosmith) daughter who sang the theme song at the end which was a huge hit.
Deep Impact is a great movie! They're good companion pieces cause its more grounded focusing on the effect on people's lives rather than big action adrenaline. Although Armageddon is more outrageous/over the top, it gets the emotional beats right, so the nonsense of the physics dont take you out from caring for the characters
I always think of this part of the movie. When I told my dad I was gonna propose to my no husband and he told me he'd be dam proud to have him marry me. Cancer took him before he could see it, but damn man, I know he was these.
I love this movie and have since it came out! I definitely agree with the folks who suggest you watch Deep Impact. The late 90s were so interesting, because in '97 we had two volcano-related disaster movies (Volcano and Dante's Peak) and then in '98 two space disaster movies (Armageddon and Deep Impact). It's pretty well accepted that both Volcano and Armageddon were the "popcorn" films and Dante's Peak and Deep Impact were the serious films. All worth watching!
i love the idea that Willis is having a hard time climbing on an asteroid that has, at most, 1% of the Earth's gravity. He could literally pull himself up with his pinky there
Hollywood over exaggerates the oilfield. They love showing oil shooting out the ground like that. Back in the day yes it used to but these days it doesn’t. If that happened the state would be all over that company handing out fines like candy, fresh oil touching ground on the rigs is a major no no. These days they prefer to drill with pressurized water and sand because there’s less issues. Cost, repair, resources, and safety
I wasn't a Fan of the Original TV Series, but I've always Loved the Classic Movies...even the First one! I think Toni would Appreciate 'Star Trek' very much!👍
I'm not sure either. I was always more of a Next Generation fan but I did enjoy some of the original cast's movies. We might give some a try at some point. 😊

Liv Tyler’s father, Steven Tyler, is singing the song, Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing, during the end credits. Steven Tyler is the lead singer of Aerosmith.
