@@supreme3376 China makes 80% all the microchips in US military equipment and all with kill switches. First 2 flights sent after that Balloon had electronics failures as they came into range. The 2 finally sent took over a week to strip out the electronic and rebuilt to close to range. My guess is they borrowed some components from Israel. They buy US aircraft but first thing they do is replace the electronics. The F35I is the Israel only version and is nearly 25% better in test in several areas. They do to our jets, what we did to the Harrier in the late 60's and 70's. Tweek it out and make it better. BTW we are buying back close to a hundred Harriers now because the Boeing jets are behind delivery and with less than a third ready for use when delivered. A third are reported with machine filings found in the fuel tanks that can cause clogs or worse engine failure in flight. This was all in a recent Congressional Hearing. China has a standing army greater than our total population and the ability to disable the majority of our military hardware. War with China will be a gorilla style war after the US military is wiped out with the kill codes on the equipment.

In fact, when the producers were trying to convince Aerosmith to record the theme 'I don't want to miss a thing' they showed this scene 39:56 to Steve Tyler, the bands lead singer and Liv's father. He had the same reaction as you to seeing his daughter calling for her daddy he broke down and finally agreed.

Deep Impact is a great movie! They're good companion pieces cause its more grounded focusing on the effect on people's lives rather than big action adrenaline. Although Armageddon is more outrageous/over the top, it gets the emotional beats right, so the nonsense of the physics dont take you out from caring for the characters

I love this movie and have since it came out! I definitely agree with the folks who suggest you watch Deep Impact. The late 90s were so interesting, because in '97 we had two volcano-related disaster movies (Volcano and Dante's Peak) and then in '98 two space disaster movies (Armageddon and Deep Impact). It's pretty well accepted that both Volcano and Armageddon were the "popcorn" films and Dante's Peak and Deep Impact were the serious films. All worth watching!

Hollywood over exaggerates the oilfield. They love showing oil shooting out the ground like that. Back in the day yes it used to but these days it doesn’t. If that happened the state would be all over that company handing out fines like candy, fresh oil touching ground on the rigs is a major no no.
These days they prefer to drill with pressurized water and sand because there’s less issues. Cost, repair, resources, and safety

NASA love this movie 🙂FUNFACT: Ben Afflac:
"I asked Michael why it was easier to train oil drillers to become astronauts than it was to train astronauts to become oil drillers, and he told me to shut the f**k up," Affleck said. "So that was the end of that talk. [Does Michael Bay voice] 'You know, Ben, just shut up, OK? You know, this is a real plan.' I was like, 'You mean it’s a real plan at NASA to train oil drillers?' And he was like, 'Just shut your mouth!'"

"AJ, I got just five words for you: Damn glad to see you boy!"
    "That's six words."
Fun Fact: The film opened on Liv Tyler's twenty-first birthday.
Casting Notes Fact: First major starring role for Michael Clarke Duncan, prior to this film he had done very small roles in TV and in film.
Not Excessive Fact: After Rockhound (Steve Buscemi) gets space dementia, the shuttle crew wraps him in duct tape, which is, in fact, NASA protocol for immobilizing a crazed crew member.
Free NASA Training Fact: NASA shows this film during their management training program. New managers are given the task of trying to spot as many errors as possible. At least 168 have been found.
He's Not Wrong Fact: Rockhound's (Steve Buscemi) line about sitting on a million pounds of fuel in a rocket built by the lowest bidder is a variation of an actual radio transmission by Mercury astronaut Alan Shepard, just prior to lift-off.

Deep impact was boring at least armageddon had better looks to it deep impact had terrible lighting and production values and poor pacing Michael bay is better than mini ledger.

They really knew how to make movies that touched you with good character development and story back then, even the corniest popcorn flicks still had genuine heart

Weird fact: Steve Buscemi- the awesome actor who played Rockhound- was attacked at random the other day while walking down the street. He is ok, someone just punched him at random as he walked down the street in New York. Not only is he an amazing actor thats been in some incredible films, he was also a firefighter in NYC and lent a hand at ground zero shortly after the attack on 9/11.

The news would have you believe crime is down, however. It's laughable. Long live Steve Buscemi!

He was also stabbed in the face above the eye, in the jaw, throat, and arm 20 years ago as well.

Umm ok thanks for reporting the international news that everyone already knew. 🎉🎉

@@AdamJ09303 Well you could also say anything that made the news is something people "already know," but not everybody knows it. The film thats being reacted to is a movie "everyone has seen," and yet, the people reacting to it have not seen it, and we are all still here to watch people react to it.

I can’t believe how many times I’ve seen this and how many times I still cry during this Michael Bay, summer action, blow em up blockbuster. Love this movie. Glad you liked it. Deep Impact is good, but not as good as this one, imho. Funny thing, though, is that this one has Arwen, and Deep Impact has Frodo. 😂

Another cute, sweet thing about Billy Bob is he appeared in an episode of the tv show “The Big Bang Theory “, he did it for his mother because that was her favorite show!!

Yes.... Deep Impact is definitely an amazing movie to watch. In fact, Deep Impact deals with more of a realistic view of what would or could happen if an impactor were to hit Earth. Also, "Greenland" is another realistic viewpoint of an asteroid or comet hitting the planet and how society would handle it.....
