    This was super helpful. I’ve been gathering a list of vendors that supply vintage F100 parts. I have to find a replacement rear window and need a new seal for sure.

      I'm glad you found it helpful! It is a pretty easy install. If you need the entire window seal kit, I've those those too. Sometimes called anti rattle kits.

    I have had good experiences with the LMC parts. They have been well stocked thru this pandemic stuff also.
    Thx for the video.

    Thanks for the vid. I would add to go ahead and take all the bolts and screws out for the window channel….makes it’s so much easier.

    Thank you! I was not looking forward to this vent window job, but not having to remove the big window looks much better. My vent frame bracket at bottom is broken off, so I may buy a new frame and rubber. It also needs glass as there is a small crack. It will be much nicer when this is fixed with warm weather around the corner. I can't open now since bottom is not attached with broken bracket. I have a 66 F-100.

      It's pretty straight forward once you start digging into the disassembly! I hope it goes smooth for you! I was lucky enough to have good channels for the new rubber to lay in!

    LMC is good company.Not always great quality but at least they have what you need and that's a lot better than going without. Pretty sure you could build a 70s model ford from scratch if you really wanted to.
    Thanks Jake!!

    • @JakeHarrington
      @JakeHarrington  3 года назад

      They may require some trimming, but these seals were pretty accurate! I've purchased some other things by LMC and they have all met my expectation. I still have a new front window, glass and seal to install. That should be interesting

      Pretty easy windshield as long as you don't have to deal with the chrome, they rope in pretty quick. Its much easier with two people.

    Is there a reason that I shouldn't use silicone spray lubricant to help with seal installation that you were referring to when pressing the seal.onto the the frame piece?

    • @JakeHarrington
      @JakeHarrington  8 месяцев назад

      Anytime I mess with a seal nowadays I use a foaming glass cleaner to help slide it in place. It's much easier cleanup than an actual lubricant!

  • @MikeVieira

    Yeah...those LMC ones didn't fit at all. I had to go and order up from Rubber Steele for $163! dangit.

    • @JakeHarrington
      @JakeHarrington  Год назад +1

      I had to rope the top in first, which is the opposite of how I'd normally do it. Then pull the bottom edge of the seal by hand. It did end up fitting, but not without a ton of struggle lol

      @@JakeHarrington yeah. I tried everything I could. I just can't get the vent window to close. It's too tight at the front end point. Almost like the gasket is too thick. I got it all the way into the channel on the whole thing for the frame. I'm wondering if it's due to the new vent window frame I got via LMC. Seems like it's beefier than the stock one. We'll see how the Steele Rubber ones work out.
