    I’m trying to go back and complete my degree, which is about a year short. I’m retired, so I have Social Security and it’s all allocated toward debts. My husband supports us. This is a bucket list item that would make my family proud of me. The university is making me jump through hoops, requiring me to take a TSI test (skills assessment) even though I have heavy reading and writing courses in my transcripts. If I can get this adventure in process, it’ll be by sheer will. If you’re in college, don’t get sick, don’t move away, don’t transfer. It’s very hard to pick up anywhere you might leave off.

    Thank you so much for this suggestion because our situation changed due to my husband lost his job. Thank you so much! 🙏💕💐

    Can’t wait to have you help me next year. Hopefully you do a webinar every year. I’ll be losing half of my income as my alimony ends in December. I will definitely be writing an appeal letter!

    Can you talk about Grad plus loans? Qualifications, etc. I’m interested in entering a doctoral program and will need to get more student loans to pay for it😫

      As a graduate student you can borrow significantly more in federal student loans, $20,500 per year

    Hi , my son is freshman in a university in Nevada and only received $2k of scholarship from the state and the rest we paid out of pocket. We just realizrd while watching your youtube and fb that retirement and primary home should not be included. Maybe that’s the reason our EFC is $30k for SY 2021-2022. Please guide us what to do for SY 2022-2023. Household income is $92k for year 2020. Is there any hope that my son can get more scholarship and grants. We don’t want him to get student loan. We came from another country so we really no idea how this works. Thank you!

      You want to make sure you don't report these assets on the 22/23 FAFSA. I provide one on one FAFSA consultations and help with the form which you can schedule here, go.thryv.com/site/fafsaguru/online-scheduling?service=4ai5uc4b159vi1fd or you might want to consider enrolling in my Financial Aid Academy where I will help you navigate the entire financial aid process, maximize your aid offers and appeal the financial aid award, you can learn more here, www.thefafsaguru.com/p/the-financial-aid-academy

    I have a kid that will need an extra year of college that will not include any scholarship. What are the chances of getting the 4 year scholarship extended?

    • @TheFAFSAGuru
      @TheFAFSAGuru  3 года назад

      Good question, typically merit scholarships are for 4 years, but you can check directly with the admissions off and ask, doesn't hurt
