• i know some people don’t like the fact that they took out orpheus’s verse in “livin’ it up on top,” BUT PERSONALLY I DON’T MIND IT BECAUSE I LOVE PERSEPHONE’S NEW LINES. “whO MAKES THE SUMMER SUN SHINE BRIGHT !!?! THAT’S RIGHT PERSEPHONE !!!” and onwards is my favorite thing. and the way she dances with the ensemble-GET IT, AMBER !! 💕
• “all i’ve ever known” is still like. one of the sweetest things in the world. iF YOU TELL ME WATCHING THOSE 50 SECONDS OF ORPHEUS AND EURYDICE BEING CUTE AND PURE DIDN’T AFFECT YOU EMOTIONALLY, YOU’RE LYING.
• “way down hadestown” will always be my favorite song ever and look at that ensemble GO !! 👏 LOOK AT EVERYONE !! tbh i miss the long tassels on hermes’s umbrella, but this new umbrella’s still pretty cool !! also,, i love when orpheus and eurydice get up, they just get startled by hermes; idk why but i really like that change from london. they kept in the two doing a little dance, which is still so cute and i love it so much.
• orpheus’s ending verses in “wait for me” are still some of my favorite lyrics from the whole musical :’))
• I KEEP MENTIONING IT, BUT THE WAY EVA JUMPS ONTO THE REVOLVING STAGE IN “WAIT FOR ME II.” SHE DIDN’T HAVE TO DO THAT BUT MAN SHE DID THAT AND I LOVE IT. and the transition from “wait for me ii” to “doubt comes in” is just 🤧👌💞 (I KNOW THEY JUST DIM THE LIGHTS SO IT’S ALL DARK AND THE FATES COME IN LATER WITH THE LAMPS, BUT THAT’S STILL SO COOL, Y’KNOW !!?!)

Anyone just love to focus on Orpheus and Eurydice when they're in the background? They're so adorable, I just choose to believe they had their happy ending.
(Example, in the first scene Orpheus just runs across the stage in the background. And in the scene of Way down Hadestown, they're just dancing in the background and it's adorable. I love it.)

I remember when my sister used to play this so many times years ago when it was just a concept album. The music and their voices are so unique that I'm not surprised the album earned a stage play years later, then now on broadway. I wish it has as much hype as Be More Chill considering both musicals have a somewhat similar Cinderella-esque background.

Actually he's not lipsyncing, his mic is just at a very low volume, but you hear him very clearly on the cast recording :)
