10 years ago at BP Parkrun you'd have been running in quite a reasonably sized & fun sub 20 pack of runners - and that cross over was always pretty clear of stragglers back then.
I did it at 60% once with my 9 year old daughter, never again, I will face the safeguarding officer with my Run Britain rankings printed out if I have to!
Great run. I used to work with the guy that finished first, Simon Ford. When I first started running regularly in 2012 Si would sometimes finish first in around 17 mins at our local parkrun, Banstead Woods which has a very challenging hill around halfway. How did the Vapourfly's feel on that course? I've only used mine on the road or for intervals on the track.
They actually did a pretty good job away from the finishing 200m where I didn't really have any confidence to push anymore. May have struggled more if I was fully fresh and pushing near PB speed though.
I now find myself carefully selecting my Parkrun wardrobe just in case there's ever a Mills zooming up behind me in the final km. Unlikely, I know, given I'm about 300 miles north of their favoured locale and about 10 minutes slower, but the last thing I'd want is to be recorded for posterity as 'chip fat-stained grey vest'.
Was not a major dream, but was looking forward to run one of the bigger UK races "however the following year (2000) the event had to be postponed due to flooding in Southsea and Eastney"
🤣🤣 Well my curse is either perfect conditions or called off/should be called off (Ahem Richmond Marathon). It's currently looking like almost perfect 🤞🤞
@@CrownMyRun I've feature right at the front on their cover picture, been going there since 2009, obviously health and safety would have stopped the run these days ha ha 😂
Vaporflys, the famous trail running shoes 😂
🤣🤣🤣 I thought it was more 50-50 trail Vs tarmac
Absolutely laughable choice of footwear!
"You're only as good as your last park run". 😂 Great effort!
Thank you!
That crossover was more dangerous than a morrigan javelin spec in the duel arena with a 500m stake
0.....0 :(
Good time on such a squelchy course.
Love these videos. Keep up the good work, J.Mills
Thanks mate!

I don't think I've ever not given 100% at Parkrun. It feels sacrilegious 😅
🤣🤣 Yeah, it does feel so wrong

Great stuff
Madness to have cross town traffic, yet well navigated. Come running in Kent.
Well, we finally have a car now, so makes parkrun tourism much easier!
🥳
You need more subs

D. Mills would be ashamed at for having 150 hr about 1km in, needs to be about double that to get to his level of greatness 🤣
🤣🤣 He's had words
Need to invest in the ultraflys hit the incognito mode for winter!

🤣🤣🤣 Just know I'd say it with love!
@@CrownMyRun fortunately I've just remembered that as I do parkruns with actual hills in them I'm very unlikely to encounter a wild Mills
From RSA, worked in Brighton in 2000 for 10 months. Managed a few races. Was entered for The Great South run a week before my return. Guess what.
There was a massive storm that ruined your hopes and dreams?

@@rassiepretorius2320 Ah, what a shame - always going to happen when you hold races during October in the UK!
Beachy will go ahead whatever the weather👍 Enjoy, I’m doing the marathon….
Good luck mate!
Stuart Pearce in 8th place
Alphaflys would have been much better Jody ! 🤣🤣 Good luck for Beachy Head 👍
Thank you!!
Is a conversation/deal with your legs a monologue? If it isn’t, then is it a full blown group chat with both legs?
🤣🤣🤣it's a little monologue
What are your trail shoes of choice (other than old Vaporflys)?
I've got the Nike Trail 4 GTX and just got some new Merrell ones to try at Beachy head this week!
Don’t bring your curse to the Beachy Head weekend, I’m running the 10k and my wife is doing the marathon! 😂

There was a cliff fall at Birling Gap last night and now it’s due to rain all day Saturday. So the curse is setting in! 😂
😍🙄😍🙄😍🙄😍
which camera do you use? is it an insta 360?
It is an Insta360 go3!
I buy slightly tatty second hand vaporflys that just sit in the back of the car as my parkrun shoes 👍
Yeah, these were my old ones and they are well and truly battered now haha!
finishing one place ahead of the former england manager top shift j mills

Oh no, this is my regular parkrun and I went to bloody Millennium country parkrun this day 😔
Ah, shame mate! I'll be back as we are are pretty close!
