You have to be good at figuring things out when you're off grid. Good job, have ya figured out how many gallons or liters per hour your getting 😊

Good find I would have blamed the cold start too.

Heating from the fuel injector will help to start in cold weather, plus there are adativses that helps with cold starts that you mix in the diesel

Need to heat the head, diesels compress diesel and if heads hot it helps the combustion.

My Generac LP 10kW started good at 0F. It’s only good for about 8500 to 9000 W maximum. Your setup looks great. How are you liking the Jenna tree solar. I have two midnights and love them. To solark12k 34kW of PV and 143 kWh LFP. Yes, I’ll never run my diesel tractor out of fuel again either.

Did you try to bleed the fuel line after your diesel leak? You can’t just connect it back up and try starting it again without having the issue you just saw. A diesel injector need quite a bit of pressure to fire. If there is air in the line it needs to compress a lot before it goes. Meaning a LOT of cranking if you even can get it to go. Bigger fuel tank would be nice for you yes. :)

thanks you , I ended up bleeding it after this video, its a bit different then a gas generator :D

@@GoingOffGrid101 It's easy to bleed a diesel, but annoying and time consuming. Maybe you could rig up a level indicator that trigger the gen set to turn off when the fuel gets low in the tank? :D then you dont have to look at the time... we all know how well that works LOL, at least for me time suddenly fly.

Build a generator shed with a wood stove, turn on stove to warm the generator

Just a idea if u can use a electric heater that is before the intake like a 1500 portable heater that hot air should help fire ot off. That's how my Cummins intake works no glow plugs just a heater grid like a electric stove element I n the intake side. Hot air works trust me.

My Yanmar starts easily at 10 below zero farenheit. Your engine is a copy of a Yanmar so it should not be the cold weather.
