I am beyond amazed with the maturity and professionalism Elliott Hanna exhibits in this clip as well as several others I have watched. I just found this musical online and I'm sad that I haven't been able to see it live. Elliott Hanna is incredible!!! I've watched several other boys portraying Billy...and while most of them I've watched have been very good...Elliott is my favorite. His singing and dancing as well as his stage presence are unbelievable. And what is even more amazing is his age. I couldn't believe that all the clips I've watched were performed before he was even 13 years old. He certainly has a very bright future and I hope I can see more of him performing as he gets older.
I finally got a copy of the DVD of the live performance. It is one of the best things I have ever seen. I can't believe Elliott Hanna was only 11 years old when he performed in it. I've seen many older actors in shows who weren't anywhere near as good as Elliott. He is an amazingly talented young man. I hope he continues performing so I can watch more of his incredible talent.
I've seen the videos of Elliott at the Dance World Cup. I kept up with him the entire time it was going on. I almost didn't recognize him though...he's grown a lot in two years. I can't believe he's only 13. The dances were amazing...I just hope he keeps performing and the videos end up online so I can continue to watch him perform. I'm not sure I've seen anyone his age here in the US who has as much talent as he does. He is unbelievably talented!!!
Spider-man 9:27 enters audience right to left down stage. 9:49 audience left. 10:23 back flips left to right. 11:39 leads third row in from audience right ending up on the left.
I'm an ex-tap dancer who performed in revues like the Casino de Paris and the Moulin Rouge, but I was never a fantastic dancer. I find this so thrilling. Hanna dances with every inch of his body and though he works the audience like an old Vaudevillian who's been in the business for 40 years, he is still so boyishly adorable it almost hurts. What a blessing it is to have this on film.
I could not agree more with you! I really think Elliot Hanna was the best Billy overall in terms of acting, singing and dancing. Every single move he did through the night was 110%, and the joy on his face as he danced was exhilarating to watch. What a blessing indeed it is to have this on film!
So I have question . In the last number with tap.. why does Elliot pull his shirt down at certain times? I noticed they were all doing it but I was curious as to why .. in the angry dance he doesn’t do it ..
@@karmen181 I wasn't part of the show, but I'm an ex-tap-dancer and I would guess the choreographer realized the shirt was bound to ride up so he/she made pulling it down part of the choreography rather having it happen slap/dash and off beat.
At 10:55, the kid second from the left, we saw him on his final night, he was going home, to say he received a standing ovation is an understatement, to think we saw his final performance and calibre to which he performed it still gives me goosebumps
The curtain call displays a happy gathering of the kind of extended family which brought us Billy Elliott the movie. Sweet and sad. Here are the performers at the top of their game, but as the poet Keats warned us that all is transitory. The good does not last forever. As usual Shakespeare was there first in his final lines of tithe Tempest. But thanks are due to those who conceived and produced this inspirational DVD. A permanent tribute to those who made the musical happen and cherished by performers and audiences alike.
Elliott was so adorable!!! There have been any number of boys who were better at one element of the performance or another: the tap or the ballet or the singing or the acting, but no one was better all round or (for me) anywhere near as cute.
First Korean to write this the chat? Oh this finale is so awesome, and impressive, too! I like all of Billy Elliot musical’s scene but I like finale the most.
I don’t even know how many times I’ve watched the full show on my tv, it’s absolutely fantastic. One of the best live shows I’ve watched and the whole cast were absolutely amazing and so talented. It’s a definite must watch if you haven’t already seen it 😍
An Oriental philosopher wrote this about dancing: “Live with a dancing spirit. The stars in the heavens are dancing through space, the earth never ceases to spin. All life is dancing: the trees with the wind, the waves on the sea, the birds, the fish, all are performing their own dance of life. Every living thing is dancing, and you must keep dancing too, for the rest of your life!” (Daisaku Ikeda). I wanted to share this after re-watching my bluray copy of your OUTSTANDING performance of Billy Elliott. You’re so inspiring, Elliott. You are LIVING the above quote on a daily basis!
Anyone else shocked at the similarity in height of all the billys?? In their line up the majority looked the exact same height (which isnt too tall compared to the youngest boys), probably 5'8"ish. Do y'all reckon its bc they got cast based on looking youthful=short, or that maybe the extreme exercise at such a young age had some sort of effect on height. Im just theorising obviously, just find it crazy that they all look so similar in height! What are the odds!
I invite those with more experience with dance to comment but I believe the discipline favours guys with a compact build. Tall guys would not be as graceful in movement.
@@tonybuckley950 Billy is 11 or 12, so obviously they're gonna be short and all similar height. They find boys who are the average height of 11 to 12 year olds and they sign 6 months contracts and they keep getting renewed if they're not too tall and their voice hasn't broken, once they get too tall or their voice breaks, they leave the show after their last 6 month contract is over.

Most impressed by the sheer level of professional skills maintained by the former Billy dancers years after they moved on from the show.

I wish Debbie's bow was longer so the audience could actually notice her and clap for her because she was brilliant!!!
HorrorM Girl - Later on the show runners put Debbie in the tshirt she wore during the show for the finale, so you can now tell it's her.
My sister actually played debbie

that's Bradley Perret. You can find his last curtain call on RUclips.
The boy second from the right at 10:55 is Ollie Jochim. From viewer's left to right: Elliott Hanna; Bradley Perret; Ollie Jochim; Matteo Zecca

It's also what you call a dance captain who doesn't let anyone change so much as one-tenth of a beat or a millimeter on an arm movement.

Every children’s role in the West End has heightened boundaries, meaning the children playing Billy end up being 10-15 but all a similar height :)
**height boundaries
Well they got more adventurous with their casting later on, but the original 3 Billy's could genuinely pass for identical triplets 😂😂
