The game would probably be a lot more fun for me, I beat myself up when I can't even seem to do the simple things consistently sometimes. Just being able to pull off whatever comes to your head with ease must feel so great
I'll be adding those dashes to my gameplay. That's his real edge! He gets up to full speed in every scenario faster than his opponent.
5:00 was just nuts, he set up his air dribble going the wrong way (and did it on purpose) then corrected it with a quick quadruple flip reset to score
Glad you enjoy watching that but you don’t watch or play enough. This is easier than it looks. Many freestylers can do this cus of the specific reset you need to get. It’s the same flip over and over.

this is the first time in years where I watch a pro and as a gc3 i just look at it and am like what the hell. Zen makes stuff look easy but even watching this, some stuff just looks impossible
What’s weird is that he isn’t even a “pro.” There aren’t any pros that are doing what dark is. The 1v1 pros started incorporating pogos after dark. So It will be interesting to see if this play style will be meta in the future

Dark is one of those players that will set trends and influence how RL will be played. He’s not the best in the world but only because he is constantly pushing on the limits of the game. No one plays like him

dawg wtf did I watch? I got surprised for like 5 mins in, jaw dropped cause one I've never seen someone wave dashed on the wall and 2 wave dash to set themselves up for a shot. the mechanics are actually goated asf.. don't even get me started with the quadruple flip reset just to score... that was insane.
people like vatira dominate him though because although he’s mechanically gifted he doesn’t use a lot of his brain, once pros start challenging his aerials he’s pretty much done for on the ground.

I hate how he plays. It’s so brain dead. Just all mechs no brain. If he tried to think about what he should go for for like 2 hours (just sitting in replays to study where he goes wrong) he’d be unstoppable. Like he’s got a gc1/c3 brain with the best mechanics in the world. It bothers me a lot.
He doesn’t care about that, he does not care to get scored on on bad decisions. He does not care to lose. He just wants to go fast and try mech plays. We’ll all thank him later when better tryhard players learn his stuff.

if you watch his streams you will understand, he doesn't play to win, even in tournaments. he just wants to unleash his full potential and plays at full speed all the time.
he gets annoyed the most when people slow plays you can literally hear it in his voice with sighs and other noises he makes.
what he wants to do IS NOT winning only, he wants to hit the shots and plays he imagines in his head which translates to these different clips and variants of the same shot.
but I totally agree with you, if he just tone his speed down and try to win, top 10 in ladder is pretty easily achieved for him I'd imagine.

I thought of the same thing, it takes insane amounts of focus to get those mechanics perfect … but imagine having a bot error rate with a human mind control , i believe he is the future of rocket league

I'd say you just about hit the nail on the head. Rocket League definitely has a period in the middle where it can get a little stale, but playing with friends always helps.

Generally, Dark is more of a "showoff" kind of player, which usually isn't the optimal strategy for winning against the best in the world. This is also why his ranked games aren't at the top against those top players. About a year ago, when he "sort of" changed the 1v1 meta to include pogos and especially plan B pogos, he played against some of the top 1v1 players, here is a list of some of the matches:

Is it possible he is cheating,only to get 100% reset consistency. Believe me. I'm not calling him out. And his skill is darn near amazing. But how do you air dash that many times? Replay glitch maybe?

I can’t keep the pace I’m a simple adult with wife and kids, I work 40 hours a week as a SSAE in a corporation, my dream of getting SSL is impossible to reach, I’m slaying ex-SSL from 4 seasons ago but this skill level is madness now I need to learn how to flip everything with a wave dash otherwise I’m not going to have enough speed.
Don't stress it too much! RL goals can be tough with a busy life, but you're killing it with your dedication. Family and work are priorities, but keep grinding when you can.
