- Have you heard about the “puriteens”? That’s the nickname for Gen Z’ers who are uncomfortable with sex and sexuality, and discuss that discomfort, largely online. Well, the media is obsessed with them and what their #thoughts mean for the state of their sex lives. But how accurate is that label? Is this a real thing? Our Assignment this week: unpacking the “puriteen” label.
We called up Constance Grady (www.vox.com/au...) , who is both a millennial and the Vox senior correspondent behind The Purity Chronicles, (www.vox.com/cu...) and Izzy Ampil, the Gen Z writer who reported “People Think Gen Z Is Sex Negative, But The Truth Is More Complicated (www.buzzfeedne...) ” for Buzzfeed News.

I feel like there was a missed opportunity to talk about gay men in particular and the generational divide. Those who grew up with AIDS and those who grew up post gay marriage.

I'm a baby boomer and I think I must have stunted sexually at the age of 12. I never really liked sex because it always hurt .. I didn't like all the things required to please a man (or myself). Don't get me wrong, I HAD sex and I DID all the requirements and I even had a full body orgasm once. I've been deeply in love and had sex for sport on occasion, but I'm still saying that I didn't like it. I'm glad that I'm too old now to care.

For most all of history, humans married young, didn't expect constant dopamine highs from sex, food, "likes," attention, entertainment & thrills. Had kids & worked to survive, prayed & sang & grieved, had suppertimes & winter fires, were immersed in nature's seasons & an eternal sense. Died young with no life extending, depressing, artificial rigamarole. We expect utopia here, constant dopamine hits, & are the most medicated, depression-assailed population ever.

Are Gen Z the 2000s babies, and the Gen Y the 90s babies?
My understanding is Gen Y is another name for Millennials.
Millennials started being born in the late 80s, and Zoomers (Gen Z) start around 2000.
Gen X started in the mid 60s, and boomers started late 40s early 50s.
It's about time for the next generation, Zoomers are having babies now.

A quick search puts it at X: 65-80; Y: 81-96; Z: 97-2012
That only gives 15 years per gen, but it works out better especially because it accounts for Z in their 20s now, which accounts for Maxwell Frost being the first Zoomer in Congress at age 25 in 2022.
But I'm not sure how a new generation gets started amongst 15 year olds, but maybe I just don't understand how the demographics work. Maybe Gen X are the parents of the early Zoomers, not Y, so there's a little leap frog, not just the previous generation being that parents of the next generation.

I had a sex educational class in middle school. I am 64 years old, do the math. Well they play a film😂for us that explain the difference between the genders boy and girl very educational. The bottom line is sex was designed for procreation and love between two people who understand it. Google and find that film

People with smart phones have access to online pornography, people are addicted to pornography period, the same feeling and pleasure you get from having sex with someone, can be done by your self with a lotion watching pornography videos.
