It's hard to just try skills for fun when it increases your chance of getting injured. And I think she know if she has a major injury this is done and is probably her last chance. I wouldn't try skills all willy nilly either.

I think it is awesome that Chelsea can be such a role model for all ages of gymnasts. It’s also good that her dad is the coach. I live how the gymnast cheer her in when they are around. It’s like a family in their gym. It reminds me of our dance studio when I was young. It would be cool to see the kids have a sleepover at the gym and all of the fun things they would do

wow audrie can do a skin the cat, that’s amazing!! at pole vault many of my teammates had a hard time doing a leg lift, forget even lifting their hips to the bar to get inverted. obviously from gymnastics i have these skills but a three year old doing this- she’s got some serious strength!

Trendy Maths truth. Like, you can never know for sure what’s going on behind the scenes, but there is not even a hint of the Don Peters/Karolyi/Haney energy there. It seems like all the gymnasts, not just his daughter, feel safe making mistakes.
FrancesBaconandEggs he’s also a hoot to be around. In one of the previous videos he was teaching a little girl a cartwheel on beam. He was hilarious and said ‘imagine this is your mom, now don’t kick her’ and then suddenly said ‘do you like your mom’? It’s moments like that that showed me he was an awesome coach, the Karolyis coached with fear, Andy coaches with happiness. He should be promoted.
Haha, Andy’s “college stick” after she quickly turned to salute after the double pike. That is totally something you’d see in college gymnastics, trying to hide the fact that they didn’t stick.

I had to get this morning, haul the shutters onto the roof, and then put them over the windows. I told myself that if chellsie could challenge herself, I could certainly push myself to get up one a roof! THANKS!

How she has kept her flexibility all this time is what really surprises me! That is hard to do when you get older and not doing intense stretching every day. She hasn't lost any at all! Her leaps are still in over split.

Is the Pak going to be the only high to low transition for you? Also, have you ever thought (now or in the past) about trying to do the Hindorff with 1/2 turn to catch in mixed grip? Is that even possible? And thanks for sharing your journey as always!

I’m really impressed with Chellsie’s transition from high to low bar. She doesn’t have a huge leg separation on the back swing like a lot of girls.
