Originally the show wasn't even going to have Maggie, they were only going to have Brighton and Gracie, but they decided they wanted Max to have a teenage daughter specifically to look up to Fran as a mentor.
I enjoyed watching her go from incredibly socially awkward to full of joy by the end of the show. I figured that's what she was there for. to show how much Fran really lit up the room for this family.
I deal with depression and anxiety too honey. I know it’s hard but please take heart that you’re not alone❤️ Fran Drescher herself has been through a lot personally yet she’s able to come and be a bright spot in our days. So perhaps when you or myself are feeling low we can try and channel our inner Fran ❤️ *hugs*
You can see how much she shaped Maggie she was shy unpopular and quiet she became outgoing fun and lively but one thing Fran always did was love Maggie even and told her how wonderful she was even before those things
One of my favorite episodes the fact Fran tried to change herself thinking it would help Maggie shows how much she loves her. The beauty of it was the fact Maggie loved Fran for herself and never wanted her to change. The impact Fran had in their lives in so little time says a lot!
I love Fran as herself as well! She’s the real deal ! Maggie is right! As Maggie tells Fran to just be herself that’s what we all should do just be ourselves.
My favorite part of the episode is her demure voice introducing herself as she was instructed and a woman in a brown frock walks by and she, on point, says: "How now brown cow?" lol
Fran is from the wrong side of the tracks, but she’s smart and knows more about fashion than any of the fancy people that look down on her. She pulls off ‘rich’ better than rich people do.
My favourite lines "Let's throw a party that'll kill cc" "Now you're thinking like a Deb" "Your father is cute" "You know they say I look just like him" "They lied" 😂😂
I am glad Maggie loved Fran just for herself and didn't want to her change who she was. That what means to really love somebody you want them to be themselves even if they are trying to change for you.
She bought a gift she wanted for the grab bag, then she wrapped it in a very awkward way so that she’d know which one it was, and that everyone else would pass it up for something not shaped like a tennis ball.
Plaid skirts not part of a school uniform are a thing, they were VERY popular in the 90’s in the US. Most of the girls in my school had at least one, and we were in public school with a relatively lax dress code.
How about that, Maggie wants to be more like Fran and Fran wants to be more like Maggie. They inspired one another. Come to think of it, i wonder how Maggie would've been if she did act like Fran for a few days. You know a prince/princess and the poper episode ordeal.
Maggie may not have been one of the funniest characters but her relationship with Fran made up for it. Fran's influence really shaped her to blossom.

@@darkmask5933 and i feel like they had a lot more to do with Maggie
@@Taichungxi they definitely used her more than the other kids. I feel like Maggie really had a closer bond to Fran, almost like sisters at times

@@Silver-kw7eq Which made for great TV. Fran Drescher said her inspiration for the Nanny was "The Sound of Music"...but with style and no Nazis!!!
When I feel down and my anxiety and depression hits me hard I watch The Nanny this show has gotten me out of some very dark times. Thank you Fran.
Same here! Hang in there!
Same here!
💕💕💕
Ditto it’s a bright light on a gloomy day 😊

She loves those kids with all her heart. Obvious by the way she started to get to know them the minute she walked into their home
I love Maggie and Fran relationship is really cute
Before you know, she became the girl of steel.
One of the best advice fran has ever givien... wrap your gift ugly so no one will pick it and you end up with it! Love this show!!!
What was it ? I missed the full episode ?
@@derrytaylor7417 They never say what it is. Fran just advices to wrap the best present in aluminum foil.
CC wasn't destined for tall dark and handsome. She is destined for Niles the butler.

🤣mine too!!!🤣💖
That's the most memorible line of the show for me haha
Funny how she’s more prettier and sparkling as herself in her big hair and bright cheerful outfits. “Fancy” is plain.
Fran is from the wrong side of the tracks, but she’s smart and knows more about fashion than any of the fancy people that look down on her. She pulls off ‘rich’ better than rich people do.
CC getting her palm read was hilarious 😂

@@welcometothemetaverse2523 sounds like that fortune teller was the real deal 😂
@@welcometothemetaverse2523she should have told her saw a short blonde brit
Fran looked gorgeous with her hair pulled back in a bun.
Agreed
I ❤️❤️❤️ Maggie’s dress! She looks simple and elegant!
Happy Birthday to the real Fran Dresher! You’re eternally an icon ⭐️
Aww,it's her birthday?
@@unexpectedvixen5685 yes it was on the 30th
Fran, classy and been herself, she's always a hit!!!
Unless she’s helping Max get backers. When that happened those people were total backstabbing bitches.
My favourite lines
"Let's throw a party that'll kill cc" "Now you're thinking like a Deb"
"Your father is cute"
"You know they say I look just like him"
"They lied" 😂😂
Brighton is a real life Bart Simpson 🤣
I thought I was the only one who thought this
I just love everything Fran did for Maggie 💖😊
I love Maggie's dress! The mini corset and the full skirt are so cute 😍
I was thinking the same thing! Love it!
I never realize how Fran had such a prominent widow’s peak.
I love that Dorothy Lyman played so many guest roles in The Nanny (in addition to being the director).
yessss!
She looks so pretty here. But I love her Frantastical self.
Oh snap!
I like this episode, Maxwell and Niles got an etiquette lesson from Fran and the end of the episode is so good.
You know you got a real fortune teller when she's willing to tell you like it is :P
I'd kill to have the wardrobe from THE NANNY, like outfit from every single character would cheer me up forever.
the redhead girl... omg stunning!
3:12 Pfft, oh Brighton
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRAN
I LOVE Maggie's dress!! ❤❤❤
Fran looks amazing in that outfit!
They look so gorgeous here
Fortune Teller: I see no tall dark handsome in your future.
Okay, Niles is a blond, but he is tall and handsome. C'mon, lady give this man done credit
I am glad Maggie loved Fran just for herself and didn't want to her change who she was. That what means to really love somebody you want them to be themselves even if they are trying to change for you.
One of my favorite episodes...
Fran looks like Sade Adu here. So beautiful
The lesson in this episode is all ways be yourself
Always best to be yourself.
Mrs. Wentworth (the pilgrim party guest) is played by Dorothy Lyman. Dorothy was Naomi from "Mama's Family."
And don't forget her as Daisy Cortland on All My Children.
I was looking for this comment. Was the young girl who played Maggie's friend that one actress from the show, LA Vegas? I think her name is Nikki cox?
@@akmmicou1819 No, but she also plays Ryce in the movie series Beethoven. Nikki has a wiki that lists her shows. I had completely forgotten about her!
@@beachgirl48 She was Opal Cortlandt, Gillian Spencer was Daisy. Sorry, I so rarely get to use my AMC knowledge that I take any chance.
Apart from the voice Fran looks like Lilth from Frasier
"Aww..don't mention it 😇
EVER AGAIN! 😈"
Nikki Cox didn't have to cut Brighton down like that. Someone's gonna slip in all that blood.
"How now Brown Cow"
A young Nikki Cox dishes out snark before Unhappily Ever After.
I’ve seen this episode a lot and never figured out what Fran meant with “I wonder what this could be” 🤔
She was being a smart arse. She wrapped it so she knew exactly what it was.
She bought a gift she wanted for the grab bag, then she wrapped it in a very awkward way so that she’d know which one it was, and that everyone else would pass it up for something not shaped like a tennis ball.
Because every gift was square and hers is like a bag of potatoes, she marked her target LOL
It took me a minute to realize that the women at 1:36 is Naomi from “Mama’s Family” 😲 One of my other favorite old sitcoms!
Thank you, I could not figure that out!
She also directed most of the episodes of "The Nanny".
I love Maggie’s dress here… sexy but so sable.
Fran looked great dressed up like that.
1:36 It's Naomi from Mama's Family lol!
So no one noticed the redhead is young Nikki Cox🤔??? IDK why these celebrities insist on plastic surgery. She was always a beautiful girl.
Does anyone know what Fran picked ? I missed the episode. Rice Krispy ball ?
I was wondering that too
based on my fair lady ❤️👌🏻
I love this show 🥳😍😀
2:46 obviously, there is funny, reliable blonde
;)
Fran looks like her character in This is Spinal Tap, Bobbi Fleckman
OMG at 1:50 That's Naomi from Mama's Family!
So awesome, those were the days!
Nikki Cox, was so beautiful.

ich finde diese szene cool
Always had a crush on Maggie....
Always irks me when that rich lady refers to her cook as ... cook.
I'm sure he has an actual name you know.
I love Maggie's dress in this. She looks like Grace Kelly.
I love all Fran's clothing.
Everyone started cracking up at the fortuneteller herself. Was she someone famous at the time? I was around then, but I don't recognize her.
2:10 ey ... Nikki Cox ... before her ... wrong decisions and experiments.
I don't know what you mean. Did she have plastic surgery or something?
@@r0bw00d yepp. Bad.
Is that Taylor Dayne playing in the background?? *YAAAAAAASS!!!*
That lady Maureen is from Mama's Family!!
Funny that Maggie looks older than Fran
Me: Looking at 15-y/o Nikki Cox in this scene... and wishing I was, too!
That... and remembering Traci Lords. =:o
3:00 Why is that girl dress in her private school uniform? You’re at someone’s party, leave your school clothes at home!
Plaid skirts not part of a school uniform are a thing, they were VERY popular in the 90’s in the US. Most of the girls in my school had at least one, and we were in public school with a relatively lax dress code.
Nikki Cox & Dorothy Lyman!
Ah! That’s Naomi from Mamas Family

What was in the foil gift grab bag?!
They lied 😂😂
This is my "Friends".
Ive never been so early to something.
They should have made Barbies in honour of Fran Fine!!
Is there a way to watch full episodes?
Prime video if you're in Canada
I think there’s a Facebook page of the nanny
HBO Max
Hey do the little bro is Ryan Gosling?!
No. The actor who plays Brighton is Benjamin Salisbury.
Ah poor Cc 🫢🤧
