I roller set my natural hair at least once a week. I have fine hair and I love the bouncy and big hair I get. I will have to try these rollers and your roller placement. It definitely looked more like how it was done when I was relaxed and wore roller sets years ago.
I like those rollers! With regular plastic hard rollers your hair would slip everywhere but, the hourglass rollers held everything in place! That's a plus regardless of your hair texture.
I have some of these rollers, I only used water and my hair came out so pretty! weightless and so soft! It was kinda hard to manuver those rollers but they work!
IKR! I was so distracted by those beautiful, toned arms! I'm supposed to be watching her hair but I'm watching her arms as she rolled her hair. Video worked because I bought the rollers. Now how do I get her to do my hair? :)
Thank you so much for such a great tutorial! I took some notes - never thought to smooth with a soft bristle brush! Perfect for the areas where I have some shorter strands.
For people who prefer not to use heat: You should stretch your hair first with a twist or braid out or bantu knots, and then do the roller set using the ponytail method for optimal stretch especially for at the roots.😊
I've tried and failed to rollerset my hair, but I feel Like I could do it with these!! I want to try them lol!!! Thanks so much for letting me know about these rollers! I've never heard of them before!!!
So i just did a roller set with these after ordering them years ago because of this video 😂 and i love them! Going to order smaller ones for a perm rod set look. I did a ponytail set to help me smooth my roots and use less rollers.
SO GLAD you did a video on this. I have some rollers that have little small teeth in them also and I was afraid to use them because someone mentioned that my hair my tangle on the rollers. But it didn't look like yours did. So I will have to give it a try.
I know what you mean, before I began offering them - I had the same fear. They are actually more like smooth "bumbs" or nodules versus teeth so they help smooth and stretch your hair without damage. Hope this helps!
The papers should be folded over the end of the shaft. Keeps the hair together and also eliminates frizzy ends and also smooths split ends. Natural hair is fragile and the papers protects against breakage. I have been setting clients hair like this for many years. Years ago I used Bergamont hair oil because there weren't products like today. If you look at an often used set of sponge rollers you will see hairs in the sponge. Papers help prevent that. Split ends absorb extra product also. Papers help prevent that also. After any attempts at setting the hair, often clients had the set last a week or more. Also many clients would use the rolling process for touch up. Also a warm curling iron with heat protecting product can be used for touch up. Natural hair is so versatile and so much can be done with it. I have, done hair of all different races and I find I favor African American hair because of the wonderful body. I also never cut natural while wet.
If you use setting papers on the ends, the set is even nicer. Sitting under a dryer does nice too. I also used perm rods on clients but I always used papers on the ends.
oooo! thank you so much for this review on these rollers. Your hair texture is very similar to mine, and my daughter's, and I wanted to experiment with our hair stretched (heatless) in the cooler months. I had been eyeing the rollers anyway. Your hair did turn out very silky, and your technique helped.
If I roller set my hair as you did, will I get pretty, toned arms like yours? Lovely results, my mother could never get roller sets on my hair to come out so smoothly. Must check these rollers out!
hi, my name is Carmen de Puerto Rico and I love your videos, I'm using my son's account and my English is regular. I wish you could do a full process of rollerset ,a new one with your current hair. I'm very grateful to you, hugs and kisses
For a "curlier" look, I recommend the aqua color for medium lengths, for more of a stretched/straighter look that can be followed by low heat for smoothing, I recommend the blue or pink for medium lengths. Hope this helps!
I have examples of the rollers on shorter hair on my Instagram page @Longing4Length. For a similar look as Maria on shorter hair, I recommend yellow! :-)
SPEAKING REAL Thank you so much!!! I recommend pink for a stretched but still curly look on midback length hair. Two packs of 12 is enough, the white are larger for more of a stretched look - but they come 6 per pack and I've been told 4 packs are needed. Hope this helps!
I’ve been searching low and high for a SUCCESSFUL 4b/4c rollerset (no direct heat) Hair tutorial. Thank you girl!!

Yes, exactly! :-)
LOVE IT! No heat damage!
If you didn't show the initial "before" picture -- I would have swore you had a relaxer!!!😲😱😍👏🏽 ( standing applause )

Glad you like yours! After a little practice its much easier right? I had the same experience :-)
Very pretty and not complicated.

Is this a Black owned business?
SPEAKING REAL yes ma'am. Black female owned business.
Well Sis. You have my support. I'll be order my set. I'm natural, with bra-strap hair. Do you have any recommendations on which rollers to purchase?
SPEAKING REAL Thank you so much!!! I recommend pink for a stretched but still curly look on midback length hair. Two packs of 12 is enough, the white are larger for more of a stretched look - but they come 6 per pack and I've been told 4 packs are needed. Hope this helps!
