Dwane is light years above pierce. It's not even a conversation. Your putting up trades. Trades are like opinions. One person could trade peirce for a whole team while another person wouldn't trade him for dirt. When u look at all advanced stats or even reg stats it's not a conversation 😐

You couldn't ask for a much better deal. That was a big brain move by Ainge. Plus also trading down the draft pick with the Sixers to get Tatum was the icing on the cake.

Along with the pierce/garnett trade for picks that led to Brown and Tatum, the most astute move Ainge made in this era was hiring Brad Stevens out of Butler. Really inspired and amazing foresight
then acquiring Butler's point guard Gordan Hayward.

Jason Raymer because its like comparing two completely separate leagues before the super bowl. More than half the league weren’t even teams not to mention the teams that don’t even exist anymore.

@Jason Raymer but, in the Celtics case, you also have to think about it like this, if there are, say, 40 players in the league rn who are pretty good, above average. In the 50s and 60s, there were like 10 teams, so each team had 4 really good players. In the playoffs, the Celtics would play all teams of full HOFers.

The Celtics as of now, are the leaders of New England sports. The Patriots beat the Dolphins yesterday, but that doesn't convince me Cam Newton is winning a super bowl for us. Red Sox need a new owner, John Henry is a cancer. So for the first time since the 80s, all the attention should be on the Celtics in Boston now.

Piece or two away. Tatum is ascending but Brown isn't really an all-star, Kemba is a lesser all-star. Tatum needs at LEAST two real all-stars around him ala LeBron had with Irving and Love but realistically he needs an MVP next to him like LeBron had with a Wade and Bosh.
Just not enough talent on the starting lineup to be anything more than a Trailblazer esque second round team that sneaks into the conference finals here and there.

I’m not looking at franchises and saying yeah the patriots are the best overall, I’ll say Tom Brady is just great and got all of the patriots championships.
