Interesting video. What a unique looking station there. Love the ramps, which actually remind me of some of the stations here in Melbourne. well done catching a great view of the freight train.
The SCT Logistics Loco named "Tommy Express" is named after the SCT Founder's son who races overseas.... His brother Jack was a local Supercar driver until he retired at the end of 2023. The Leightonfield freight lines are used as the passing loop on the ARTC Sothern Sydney Freight Line between Chullora and Macarthur...
One of the mysteries of Villawood / Lieghtonfield the occasional popcorn smell in the air. Still better than the washing powder smell (Drive ?) of 30 years ago when the Colgate factory was in full swing just up from Leightonfield station on the south side.
Hey Phil, I have a question, see when you said that you don’t need to tap off when you usually film but do you get fined if you dint tap off and tap on, for example: I get a train from Strathfield to Cabramatta and stay at Cabramatta station for 30 min to film trains do I need to tap off and tap on at Cabramatta station?
No, but there is a TRIP time limit of a few hours. But If you return to Strathfield and tap off you'll get charged because of the 30min time limit. Read info on Opal website
Carramar to Cabramatta trains are a joke. Constant hostage talking 20 mins wait today because the T2 trains passing through Fairfield and Canley Vale was late on numerous occasions. Control Room staff have low IQ don't know how to operate the signalling to!let T3 trains to pass through to Cabramatta. It's pathetic, lazy and discriminatory, and T3 is back to the Dark Ages.

Like stepping back in time Phil 👍
Nice video keep it up
I appreciate that they have a bubble tap at the station.
I remember being a JSA in 1977 on the relief being sent there for a week they had a SM a ASM and a shunter and a couple of juniors
Cool mate

5:44 CSR013-CSR024 were delivered around 2021 and all of them have that livery, which is grey instead of white and has a more simple design
Cool!
And I love Leightonfield station!
I know you in roblox 9:16
good catch with the refueller !
I was there the other day
Much better signs than modern designs. It's a pity most of them were scrapped.
I like trains
I do too!❤❤
We all do! ( Except NIMBYs they suck )
4:00 yes, it is
No safety barriers on the overhead bridge, to deter the little darlings from peeing on the electric wires. Ah, the good old days!
Hey Sydney trains vlogs I was wondering when will you give us an update on the stations along the bankstown line between bankstown and sydnham?
Wonder if the bubblers works on the platforms? I've never been there to confirm
The ramps at Leightonfield are far too steep to be considered suitable for use as accessible pathways.
Is sad😢😢
