I didn't read Waaggh and neither has my mum - she read a few snippets in one of the papers (maybe the Daily Mail) I visited her one day and she was fuming! What an out-and-out liar she said, she was talking about Harry! He's trying to make out his father, our King was a cold uncaring father. He was and is a fantastic, loving father. That spoilt brat obviously forgets we've seen the newspaper pictures since his birth! My usually mild-mannered 83-year-old mum was raging"

Prostate cancer is a different thing. However, even in prostate cancer, most of the time a man will die from something else before he dies from this type of cancer. Again, this is not what the King has.

To me that was a powerful image of connection King Charles has had with his family and the profound impact these moments had on his life. Thank you for this meaningful insight into his past which connects to the present. Prince Harry could have such a meaningful life and deeply significant life if he would only be grateful for his past.

To become a little bit spiritual, it could be said, that KC III´s parents and grandmother did all they could to prepare and help him to fulfil his role, thus they can rest now and his grandfather can take over to support him in a way he wasn´t able to do in life.

Beautiful sentiment ❤️. The late queen and queen still get credit for fostering King George's memory and legacy and instilling in him the importance and magnitude of the job. It's too bad that a certain spoiled, self exiled younger son didn't seem to get a single shred of the same in his indulgent childhood. I can only imagine how deeply disappointed the king must be.

I'm Scots/Irish American & I wrote at the time how proud I was of the people of Scotland in that they were probably determined that when dead the Queen would not have to endure Meghan and that they would not let her leave them unguarded & unhonored. Hence the spontaneous turn out as her coffin left. I was particularly touched by the people that watched by themselves or in small groups at farms, on horseback or on tractors. I KNEW they would immediately transfer their loyalty to King Charles because of their profound sense of personal loyalty; a trait not shared by his younger son. I believe that the King was uncertain & surprised by this public acceptance by all of the British people as a whole because of the undermining of the monarchy & himself leading up to her death by the twosome, which still goes on. Certainly, he would have taken great personal comfort from it during his own immediate grief. From that certainty I think he grew & continues to grow stronger.

Like you I was gutted that I didn't purchase the 1st editions of HP😢😅. JK Rowling used to come in when her 1st book came out (before the book took off), we were her local bookseller.
She would quietly have a peek at the shelf in the evenings when all was quiet. If we caught her we would tell her what her sales were todate. The staff started reading the book and we all enjoyed it so when the school teachers came in looking for recommendations she was top of our list.
The most amazing thing happened after that (I had never seen anything like it before) school children came in droves asking for the book. Kids rarely chose their own books prior to that, it was usually the parents.
She inspired a whole generation to start reading for real pleasure. ❤

I think KC has a curious mind and so reads things he doesn’t need to but which interest him. I think that’s a great quality he shared with Prince Phillip. I don’t think the Queen did and focussed intently on what she needed to as opposed to anything she didn’t. I am certainly not denigrating the Queen. They were just different.

He was staying with us whilst my grandmother was on a holiday & my brother & I used to jump in his bed in the mornings and he would wrap us up in the blankets. The day before he died we visited him in hospital and our mother warned us we couldn't jump on his bed, but my grandfather said he wanted us to go so. Looking back, I treasure conversations with my grandmothers and the wisdom they shared. My grandfather was not very talkative, but all I had to do was move next to him with my palm up and oops, a nickel would appear for me to run next door to buy candies - what joy to reminisce. He has a very old soul so when we are together it’s magic. We understand each other in a very supernatural way. Charles being a Scorpio makes me think he was beyond special to the Queen Mother. I brought that up to my Daughter in law once and I think she threw up in her mouth. Lol I don’t care. In my mind my grandson may as well be the Prince of Wales. To me he’s that special!

No he didn't. Don't make him a hero he isn't. What he should have done is to go to another hospital since he invited the media. William's team made a deal with press to leave Kate and him in peace but that Charles had press even at a back door to picture Camilla.

@@MaliKamicakAnd you are incorrect as well. King Charles very much believes in the Royal mantra of “ they must be seen to be believed “. Hence his exit through the front door, acknowledging the waiting well wishers. Showing that he is indeed doing well after his surgery. And today, yet again, he has chosen to be open about his medical situation.

I agree with the late Queen, that oh dear there are quite a few murders in these typically quaint English villages. Thank you for sharing 3 year old Prince Charles saying "but who drank the tea?". I'm currently reading Mr. Hardman's book, "Queen of our Times". Great book! In that book he also mentioned King Charles, then Prince Charles, asking who drank the tea after being told his grandfather had passed away. In the book it also talks about the Princesses' governess, Crawfie and the book she wrote, the Little Princesses. Now that sounds like a fascinating read. I believe you have settled on your next book that you will summarize for us but if not, that might be a great read. As always, Shauna, love your channel. Love from Canada.

I just finished the Hardman book too. I found the Midsomer comment the Queen made to John Nettles 😂too. Also Prince Charles’s response to his grandmother telling him about his grandfather’s death, who drank the tea? Really sweet. By the time I finished the book I liked KCIII even more. He has helped so many people, organizations without making it about himself. The stories about meeting the young man from Yemen & the Windrush families were very revealing. They said he made it all about them, not him. It made me even more upset with H&M’s racist accusations when in fact the King has worked harder for diversity & equality than they’ve even imagined doing. I hope that H can behave himself during his visit & doesn’t use it as another opportunity to gather new fodder for another book. The fact that he shared a private conversation with his father & brother immediately after his grandfather’s funeral makes me doubtful. It seems nothing is off limits to the guy that screams about privacy. Hoping the King’s cancer is in the early stage & that he will the best possible outcome.
