Hollywood has fooled people into thinking cowboys talked like their tongue is tied in a knot but Alex has the most historically accurate cowboy accent I've ever heard. Both in inflection and verbiage. He's obviously done his research. His costume is also clearly done in 1867 northwest, post British, americana flair... with a homosexual twist. If you were to shop at a general store in 1880 in Delaware, you'd see three men dressed almost exactly like Alex. Again, research clearly done.
