    I just found Perplexity, today and I immediately came to your site to see what you thought of the program. I LOVE the ability to upload my own paper and have it give me additional info, like a better conclusion, a correlated reference list (with subheadings), a structure from my paper for a future powerpoint ... and even formulated images that I could use. HALLELUJAH !!!!

    I cannot think of a more amazing tool that has been created in the history of humanity than Perplexity. It's magic. It's really the least amount of friction too, just using it, compared to the other major LLMs, it seems faster and more intuitive to use.

    In actual science research, I'd expect more than literature searching. Did it have an effect on something - apart from giving summaries? And on those summaries: do we know a bit about Perplexity searches for and selects sources to cite?

    Your voice, and phrasing are very close to Russell Brand . I’m not going to where I learned that. I listened side by side. I was blown away. It’s not even listed as an option but as I’m a voice coach this came out of ether with an asterisk.     Tbh I prefer Krawl AI over Perplexity. It's more work-focused and I can get lot more things done using it because of the "tools" concept they introduced. Plus they are adding new tools to it almost every other week. It's not necessarily great for scientific research yet, but still more useful than Perplexity in other use cases right now I think

    In Perplexity ai, you can creates specific collection - designated for your own research project - that has its own persona, which you can modify in the setting. It is nice feature to personalize your search.

    i tried to research a topic called SEC (special economic zones) in Mexico. Its just dead wrong what perplexity came up with because it does not ention that SEC got canceled years ago, not a single mention. great tool anyway.

    Well depends. I already broke it twice. It DOES give some good answers, but on a very complex topics it falls flat on the face. It has even admitted it doesn't have enough data for my question.
    My take: This AI proggies are just "expert systems" from a few decades ago, just running on stronger hardware and fed more data.
    At the end this will be just tool, advanced, but still tools.

    So where will the answers come from for this app when the source sites fail from lack of ad dollars. No one is going to pay to advertise on a site where 80% of the hits are by bots. Also how many people are going to actually check the accuracy of the information, especially if the answer sits well with them?

      I don't know if you meant the pro version because bing chat is horrible compared to perplexity, also having write mode is a great advantage since it basically gives you vanilla gpt-4 turbo that has identical results with chatgpt+

      @@rupertllavore1731 Yes. And so are my friends. We are using now Elicit, at least it doesn't supply links to articles that has nothing to do with what was asked. I am prompting exactly the way I always have, I'm the past worked well, now it's garbage.

      @@albertonovati4518 It gives answers that have nothing to do with the questions, then when you attempt to correct it it will just continue giving the same reply word for word. Additionally it often gives citations that doesn't have the info it claimed to have. It wasn't always like this, it used to be really good.

    These tools are useless and shouldn’t be used. I want an option to select citations only from high-quality Q1 journals, ensuring they are up-to-date. Currently, only low-quality, open-access, and questionable journals are being cited.

      Thats true, these tools dont include recent papers from good journals. Mostly they will give u mdpi and other openaccess journals.

    this product is not ready for prime time... it even told me it was perfect... just don't ask it about itself and things like hallucinations... it becomes very defensive... gave lot of general answers when asking specific questions... i asked about its pro image product and it denied it existed... constantly had to keep asking the same question before it gave me the answer i wanted... it even admitted to being stubborn!

      That’s the daily limit for co-pilot searches. You can do more searches without co-pilot. Or you can get a paid plan

    Please consider increasing the information density by leaving out the attempts at being funny…or sarcastic…or whatever you are attempting to be other than informative….I would be much more amenable to watching your other videos if this were the case…as of now…I’ll look for other resources.
