- Video review of my 2000 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4X4. I made this as part of my for sale ad, but I think it serves as a nice walkthrough for this model year Pathfinder.
If you have any questions about the vehicle or what I’ve done to it, feel feee to ask!
I’d recommend checking out Tyler Smith on RUclips for more in depth videos on the r50 Pathfinder and aftermarket options.

Parts:
Front strut: OEM spec KYB replacements, OME HD 2928 spring, custom 0.5” spacer.
Rear: Bilstein 33185569 5100 shocks, Land Rover Defender NRC9449 springs (they fit perfect and provide lift!)
And that’s about it other than some misc small stuff!

I have a Nissan Pathfinder 2001 LE 3.5 in the north of Mexico, it works very well, greetings to all
this is what i want mine to look like. looks so f#@$ing dope with tire carrier
I ve own Scouts to Cherokees and these 2nd generation Pathfinders are the Strongest !! Built unibody so quite after 20 years still doing its job! The VQ35D IS maybe one of the top 5 engines ever built,on WARDS LIST FOR 6 YEARS,THAT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF!
I would have liked to try a 3.5L, this is the 3.3L!
@@GrizzlyPath THE INTAKE SETUP IS A LITTLE FASTER ON ACCELERATION THEY IMPROVED IT SOME,RUMOR IS A LOT OF ASE MECHANICS HATE WORKING ON THE VQ35HR CAUSE ALL OF THE VAC-LINES GIVE THEM HEADACHES,.WHILE IN TRUTH NISSAN HAS ALWAYS HAD METAL VAC GUIDES TO SNUG ON TIGHT !!TOYOTA ,FORD,CHEVY HAVE PLASTIC,A BAD DESIGN!THATS WHY NISSAN MAKES SOME OF THE MOST DEPENDABLE ENGINES FOR THE PAST 40 YEARS,THE VQ35 WAS WARD,S WINNER FOR 10yrs .No OTHER ENGINE IN THE WORLD HAS HAD THIS HONOR,I QUOTE NISSAN MAKES THE BEST ENGINE IN THE WORLD TODAY FROM JAPAN!!
Really clean one. Love my dads 99
They’re great vehicles!
Well maintained rig! Lucky the buyer!
I had a 2004...Love it. Sold it for a 4runner though. ;)
Yours is super nice. I'm on Pathy #4 right now. :)
I love this truck (as well as your new one)...I am starting now on my own "Pathy". Identical to this one except that it's some kinda desert brown (actually Friggen GOLD!!!) You did a nice clean job on yours and I'm sure I'll have to imitate some of your work, but I have a lot of plans of my own.
I’m glad I got to inspire you, they’re great vehicles and I bet yours will turn out fantastic!
The color is officially called Sahara Beige and I have an 01 in this color that I call Goldbar. Originally, I did want black or dark blue but I have come to love my Goldbar very much!
I have a 1998 for sale with a 139000 miles, super clean 5.000 6 tires with rims standard
I didn't know the 2000 Pathfinder had a spare tire on the tailgate. My older 1999 was under the truck
It was mostly an option from 96-99 and then mostly went away. I think it was a rare option with an Al carrier on 00-04. I actually took mine off a 97 and put it on mine!
is that at stock ride height? Love this thing
Negatory ghost rider, it has about a 2” lift, and then slightly oversized tires. Filled out really well and looks pretty dang proportional! That OEM+ look 😎
@@GrizzlyPath may I ask how you fit the bilsteins in? Just add a longer bolt at the top?
The Bilsteins went in the rear, no additional hardware required. Straight swap with the stock shocks.
My car😊..
That tire carrier bracket was shifting quite a bit
What Wil be the different to change the benzene engine to dieazal td32
We didn’t get the diesel in the USA. Would be best to find a broken diesel and swap it in!
Looking at a 98 Pathfinder with about 105,000 miles. They're selling for $6000, but I'm probably gonna offer $3000. What do you think? Anything I should be worried about? Body is rust free. Any issues?
Hard to say because it can depend a lot on where you live, but $1500-3000 sounds about right so long as it’s in good condition.
Recommend checking near the rear main seal on the engine is for oil- near the transmission bell housing. Those leak and are a major project to change. Other than that the 3.3L motor is pretty bullet proof. Check the front wheel well area near the top of the strut for rust as well.
@@GrizzlyPath thank you!
Cuanto es el costo
Not including bending practice pieces, about $150 in metal, $15 in grinder wheels, and then you’ll need to factor in welding, other tools, and of course how much your time is worth (maybe 10-20 hours? Who’s counting...)
How well did the tire carrier hold up? Any issues after installing it?
Held up great to many trips with no issues. Very pleased with the install. I reinforced the latch area and that probably helped.
Do you know what the height is from ground to seat?
No sorry I don’t have that info.
This have the 3.3 V6 with the timing belt??
Yeah! I replaced the timing belt at about 245k miles along with water pump and all that.
What tire carrier? I have a 2002.
It’s an OEM tire carrier from an earlier model I modded onto mine. Check out Tyler Smith on RUclips, he has some great videos that go into the OEM tire carrier options out there!
@@GrizzlyPath do you think you can drop his channel I can’t find it
@208tyler he has a Tundra now but if you go back in his videos you’ll find his Pathfinder stuff

How much lift is on this Pathfinder?
Oh gosh, hard to say. I think when compared to fresh OEM suspension it’s about 2”, and then I have slightly oversized tires on it.
What is the tier size u run
