    They would want two to waste more tax dollars...Kids learn two languages easily when they speak one at home, and one at school.

      I refuse to learn another country's language after I have spoken the one language for nearly co50 years. They are coming to live in another country. I shouldn't have to learn anything.

      Jennifer Burrell Where do you get immigrant language issues out of this? This is about English and French speaking residents of New Brunswick.

    Except for the schools, why not make everything bilingual but not make it mandatory for hiring, and then offer classes on the necessary language..?

    • @ulogy

    • @rmath176
      @rmath176 6 лет назад

      If you say that they've been doing that then great, they should keep doing it. It makes more sense then building a hospital for every language.

    Whoever did the audio levels on this needs to go back to J school. And the presenter needs to remove the stick from his posterior. And for crying out loud, get a Steadicam for that walking shot.

    So hospitals are more worried about keeping bilingualism than they are about actual patients? How about they stop wasting their time worrying about offering both English and French, and worry about actual patients? I think the latter is more important.

    • @retnavybrat
      @retnavybrat 6 лет назад +3

      How to best communicate with patients is part of "worrying" about them.

    • @northerngamer2573
      @northerngamer2573 6 лет назад

      retnavybrat How to "best" communicate with patients? Every last Canadian is an English speaker, why not use that as a basis for communicating with patients? I'm sure the fact that some patients prefer French is more important than the fact that they are in a life-threatening situation.

      NorthernGamer Please actually educate yourself before spewing false assumptions out your butt. No, not every Canadian can speak English. Roughly 1 in 10 New Brunswicker speaks only French and little to no English. About 1 in 3 New Brunswicker is French mother tongue.

    This is ridiculous, if you speak french you live in quebec, if not, live anywhere else, its really not that hard, sorry if you speak french but the rest of the country does not, there are probably more people speaking other languages besides french but for the most part they all know english as well. I dont know a single person who speaks french yet half the people I know speak languages besides french (or english) so what should we do? Just make a hospital in every other language? no, if you want to speak french and only french there is a really great place for you, its called quebec or france if you are feeling really ambitious.

    • @ulogy

      Except New Brunswick is the only Bilingual province and that's where this piece is covering.

    • @anglorights6799
      @anglorights6799 6 лет назад +2

      Ah look, another ignorant commenter. Francophones make up 1/3rd of the province and their ancestors have lived on this land for centuries. This is NEW BRUNSWICK - we are not all of Canada, and all of Canada is not else. Learn the difference.
      " I dont know a single person who speaks french"
      ^ That means that your specific community is mostly only anglophone. Just like some communities are mostly only francophone. Travel around the province and you'll bump into many francophones. Get out of your bubble.
      No, the government is not going to provide services in every language. French is recognized as an official language in Canada because 21% of all Canadians are French mother tongue (whereas about 20% of Canadians speak a non-official language as mother tongue). Stop being ridiculous and educate yourself.
      If you want to live in a unilingual English country, please move to the UK.

  • @jenniferburrell7352

    When it comes to bilingual subject..there will be no such thing. If immigrants decide to enter the legal way, there is only one answer....the language of this country is English. As they learn our laws, they learn our language. I have already witnessed the boss of a Mexican employee gets help when they are obtaining their driver'sn licenzse. No other country would allow their immigrants to ch ange their laws or make them learn their language. Why would it be any different for the United States to have to be the only one's to have to change. Immigrants that are allowed in the US better start studying US language and laws.
