Great video. Much better than the mega markets in the US. Thanks so much ))
A few questions:
Can you navigate in Russia if you don't speak the language?
Do many people speak English also?
Do people have much money to buy all these goodies?
Thanks for your Christmas videos - the one at the mall was unbelievable as I've never seen that many trees all in one place. Russia really goes out for Christmas!
👍👍😃
is it cheaper than regular store?
This is a store. The main thing, in these stores you get to know the staff, you know where the products came from, you know there fresh. Compared to going to one of the larger chain stores. As for cheaper, i think it's on par with other stores nearby. But as the saying goes "shop local"
☃❄❄not cold yet
Looks to hectic for me
No worries, you can shop at a quieter time.
Love the max headroom impression at the beginning 😋👍
22:50 LOMO LC-A - The lomography machine!
can i know the price of kilo of orange and mandrine
What a wonderful place to shop we don't have anything like this in the states.
5:26 me checking out the baklava 🤤🤤
It reminds me a lot of "flea markets" here in the states. Lots of independent stalls selling all sorts of items. Thats where when I was young I always got my metal t shirts. Motley Crue, GNR etc. Good memories.
According to Rosstat, the statistics authority, potatoes have risen by as much as 78 percent, cabbage by 31 percent and beets by 27 percent. The price of tomatoes has risen by 23% in a year and the price of cucumbers has risen by 41%.
Did you run into any trouble getting into russia from australia?
Not at all. You can easily get a visa from the Russia Embassy in Sydney.
In the last 30 years of shopping there, eggs might have been priced per egg, but no-one ever buys just one egg.
Very true, even for breakfast you need 2 or 3.
I visited Moscow in 1991 when I saw people in a queue waiting to get some goods from almost empty stores.
Now I see many full stores but no buyers
there are buyers but no crowds. I spent 2 months there last summer.
Taxes has two options for small businesses: 1. Six percent of all income plus a small tax of about $450 to the pension fund, which is paid once a year. 2. Another option an entrepreneur can choose is to pay 15% of income reduced by expenses plus $450 once a year, which I wrote about above. The rental rate is not so high and depends on the area and location.
The number of staff is more than the number of customer.
Sanctions are working! 😂 Looking good.
11:39 egg problem solved!😂
As the Ruble slides down, the imports get more and more expensive.
why so many people in the west can't afford food these days?
Should we expect your report from RED expo 2024?
Fascinating ! Thanks for sharing this !
Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers !!
I would probably go crazy if all the stalls are mix match. Do they have any type of organization between food and non food areas?
@@Pato_7wow, sounds like great safety for the consumer.
Good morning Russell!
where are the cusomers all the shops you visit are empty en do not make silly excuses, you are afraid to show prices because you will get arrested, its prohibided to film and publish the prices
Lots of food. All it needs now are some shoppers to buy it. Where are they? It's a ghost town.
Because Russell films at the time of a day when there’s less people and us viewers can see everything clearly. Usual rush hours in grocery stores are in the evening when people are going home from work and on Saturdays when people buy some things in bulk for the next week. Also, there is no deficit of food as you can see so people don’t have to buy everything out 😂
It's open 7 days per week. Morning till night. Not everyone is going to be there the 30 minutes I was filming.
That's good. I thought the fall in the ruble might be the reason. The Russian Central Bank has lost confidence in its value - and that often has a knock on effect.
Yes. That's right. The effects of a crash take time to hit the secondary sectors.
Incredible life in Russia supermarket still a world necessity I suggest
Ask the sellers what is the waste-% since shops are always empty and shops are packed with goods. Especially I wonder the vegetable etc easy to spoil stuff.
So by that logic, this place should be full of daily shoppers doing small purchases.
It doesn't add up to me. It's weirdly empty.
That's good. As long as it isn't the crashing ruble and potential lack of confidence in the banks and the customers.
@trafytal To what extent do you think the ruble can fall? Come back to reality
What happens if the ruble loses 20 percent before you get to the cashier to pay?
ничего
You just pay more. But be quick!
Noting special happend... Prices are nominated in roubles. Current stock are filled several weeks or months ago. Most sellers are ready to reduce profit in order to maintain market share.
It's nice to wander around places like this, but it is not my preference to shop in this style of market. Give me an open air discount store without lots of tiny vendor spaces spread out the building. And if you want ten different things, you may have to visit ten different vendors, ten different transactions, and to me, that would be very inconvenient.
Man its dead in there, it's a ghost town market with only employees.
like Volkswagen factory?
There are 20 x more cuts of meat then in Sydney. At least 200 varieties more salamis than in Sydney. 40 more varieties of cheeses
...200 x fewer customers. Go, ruble!
A mí siempre me cura enfermedades no graves y no deja efectos secundarios.

Seeing all that food made me hungry, and I'm watching this at 2.40am 😅
1.12an and i am awake replying to comments. )) Thanks.
@ love the videos. Although I'm not watching frequently, but i love the ones I do watch, which usually leads me to channel and to watching a few more. EVERY TIME😂
Would love to see videos on common street food or cuisines, if possible
russ, tell us the story of how you meet your wife , and ect , in a vid
Hi how are you doing Russell ❤🎉✅🥰❤️🇯🇲👏
Can you cover the russian ruble starting to free fall against the Us dollar due to sanctions
The russian ruble is the strongest currency in the world, putin is devaluing it on purpose to increase revenue from lada sales. Who wants a BMW when you can drive a Chinese car assembled in russia?
I always knew he had a plan.
Relax. Russia is an independent country, provides itself with food and dollar does not have important role here. All prices are the same like it was 6 months ago. Everyone can buy everything.
No he posts only happy and everything is ok type videos.
...except the Russian Central Bank which no longer wants to trade its own currency
I went to that type or rinoks in Vilnius and Tallin but they are not nice, it stinks badly in there, and the customers are mostly babushkas. Younger people go to normal supermarkets. When the older generation dies off those places won't have a reason to exist anymore
🤫
hey Russ, I feel like you been cheating on me after this. You show us all the wonderful supermarkets and stores around Moscow and beyond while you been secretly visiting this place right near your home?!! I am very jealous. It's perfect. Unlike anything I will ever get to enjoy in Australia.
Not telling a single price of an item? Used to tell us all the prices. Hmmm.
Why could that be? :)
It's a surprise when you try to pay.
Polish man wrong! 'Рынок'- direct translation means market. Listen to bad Russian man😅
It seems for this place. It has 2 or 3 names. Even my friends that I met there came up with a different name for the actual location that's the food market.
❤
Thanks.
It's so nice to see so many cheery people in your videos :-) Here I'm afraid there would be many who would demand to turn the camera off.
That's brilliant! 😂
😊
Thanks ))
