Maybe I'm the odd one out here(which is perfectly fine) but all the charm ,style, character, pizazz, etc , etc that the original 3 wheeler had, has unfortunately completely disappeared!! I'm so so disappointed, I wanted to love it, I really did, but I just dont. I guess I will just have to find an older used one now. Thx Morgan
It is said that there's no replacement for displacement and especially true when it's that in your face V-twin! The S&S air-cooled twin longitudinally mounted between those two narrow motorcycle tires really created something of a "halo" model for Morgan. While it maybe too early to say, I feel Morgan missed the mark with the Super 3. IMHO, using an externally mounted motorcycle has a much more visceral effect then hiding an econo auto engine under a cowl.
Yes I really wanted to hear that amazing music rather than the sound of the car, ffs. Just launch it when it’s ready to disclose everything, so annoying.
Don't tell me , we're being primed and brainwashed to forget about the joyous sounds of internal combustion , so that in our minds instead of electric motor whine we hear funky , inspiring eco music instead .
I wonder if there is a market for this thing. If I want a open car with a car engine I would buy a Mazda mx5. And why don't they let us hear how it sounds, thats disturbing.
I think the chap at 30 seconds in the plain orange one is the designer seems familiar from Johnny Smith's "The Late Brake Show" RUclips video of this car?
I’d save up and buy a car. That extra wheel brings stability, grip better acceleration, cornering, and usually a roof, boot and some doors. .. A three wheeler is not an adventure car, imagine ‘One Wheel’ drive making sense to someone other than on a motor bike?
My guess is that internally in Morgan, one already exists. The cars you see here were built 12 months ago and they've confirmed 'other power train options'. The EV3 concept had a widened front end to accommodate a rectangular battery, this new platform is already shaped wider and squarer at the front. The use of digital dials would also be an easy carryover to an EV.
Morgan may have missed its last historic opportunity. Mired in the design philosophy of the 1930’s, visionary leadership could have propelled them into the 21st Century. Recall the transformation that overtook Datsun when they morphed the Ferrari with Jaguar to create the 240z. They never looked back. Had Morgan embraced the design of hyper cars and the extraordinary creativity of students from Art Center, Cooper Union or the legendary German and Italian new breed, they might have made automotive history, now only a footnote.
Sochiro Honda famously said that in the future there will only be six car manufacturers in the world ... AND MORGAN! so i think, that far from missing an opportunity, morgan have once again proved that they have their finger on the pulse of a small but significant minority of motorists: those who just don't care what any hypercar movers and shakers are thinking or doing, but just want to have fun in the short time available to them on this strange planet in the strangest of vehicles ... long live the king of bonkers!
@@HughFeatherstone Featherstone? As in Feather Train or Lead Zeppelin? 🤣 To bank the future of the automotive world on a single quote from Mr. Honda in a previous century is a big reach, pardner. Mr. Musk and others may alter his vision. In any event it is a thrilling time for innovation, right?
@@larrysorenson4789 that's the whole thing about prophetic statements, larry, they were made in the past, even in other centuries. my only relation to led zep (other than massive respect) is that i own a petersburg amp (like mr page). morgan have brought some clever engineering/design solutions to this project, particularly the cast elements that are performing several tasks for a single component, also the air blade side skirts, concave wheel finishes and boat-tail. in addition they have moved all the heavy stuff low down and behind the front wheels. the sum of all these solutions greatly increase rigidity and stability, which will improve handling, while reducing drag and keeping the weight down. if you have more than 200 bhp per tonne - trust me: i drive a caterham - that is a VERY happy place. but i agree entirely that we live in a fantastic age for innovation, thrilling indeed!
Morgan is not a foot note but a remarkable part of automotive history. They are the only all-British-owned car manufacturer brand alive, and the founder's family still owns a big part of the business after more than a century. Not to mention the quirky 3-wheeler has sold more than 3,000 units! No other 3-wheeler has achieved that.
@@curbowman so is Mike’s Cheeta. My comment is my opinion. They are Iconic but an interesting opportunity has none the less been avoided in a carefully premeditated family/company decision. And for me, in my opinion, it is a shame.
Actually I’ve since watched an interview with Morgan on their Suoer3 and they definitely have plans for an EV version, it sounds like they will ultimately electrify the whole range over time which is excellent
So your suitcase is strapped to the side of the car ,you arrive at your very posh hotel walk in your luggage is dripping crap off the front wheels ,sorry mate we don’t do budget rooms try Travel Lodge ,or a car wash 🇬🇧👎🏽
See description for details & specs
I Have watched 4 videos on this great looking thing . But not heard it yet.. WTF?
Over nine minutes of banging and squeaking noise, but no engine noise.
Nice that it's still being made, but I'll take the open engine look any day. The original is still the best!
Looks great but is the sound too embarrassing to let us hear it ?????Very odd.
yeah two and a hl minutes of driving footage and no vroom, what gives ?
They will do an exhaust sound soon after final tuning, I don't think we will hear motorbike sounds from the Ford 3 cylinder unit?

It's too bad Morgan didn't team up with Triumph and utilize an exposed Rocket-3 engine IMHO.
Yes I really wanted to hear that amazing music rather than the sound of the car, ffs. Just launch it when it’s ready to disclose everything, so annoying.
Wow they look awesome
Such an awesome machine. Then there's always the less cool but still fun Vanderhall Venice for open cockpit, three-wheeled fun.
This would be in my opinion the perfect Miami Beach Fl car . Hands down !
Splendide !
Still prefer the V twin
Don't tell me , we're being primed and brainwashed to forget about the joyous sounds of internal combustion , so that in our minds instead of electric motor whine we hear funky , inspiring eco music instead .
where are the side pipes?
I think it sounds like a budget Ford Fiesta , need aftermarket exhaust companies to step in. SC Project, are you there?
It's a 3 pot so hopefully it's tuned a bit to give it that uneven. Warble
I wonder if there is a market for this thing. If I want a open car with a car engine I would buy a Mazda mx5. And why don't they let us hear how it sounds, thats disturbing.
3 Wheels, reducing your chances of missing that pot hole. 😘
Actually as three wheeler owner I can confirm that it actually ensures that at least one wheel hits the pothole!
To much music, no engine sound.
I think the chap at 30 seconds in the plain orange one is the designer seems familiar from Johnny Smith's "The Late Brake Show" RUclips video of this car?
It is very ugly, horrible!
The old model had charm, this one looks like something out of an anime manga.
I am really disappointed .

When are they going to make an electric one.

Super 👍
Let's go drive 'em through salt water ... it'll be good for 'em!
They are completely waterproof so after they filmed that scene on the beach they jet washed the entire thing, yes interior too
Ford 3 cylinder?? With or without the turbo? If it's with the turbo it should be a fun trike.
That Music is so annoying or is that the noise the three cylinder makes!!, come on Morgan!!
What's the music?

What's the safety rating for these?
Same as other motorcycles.
이 멋진 차를 여기서 탈수 없다는게 많이 안타깝다
"It's a pity that I can't ride this wonderful car here" Korean
It must sound like a total pig if they won't include an engine sound track in the video.
Are they going to include an EV option.
Sadly, there are no plans for an electric powertrain at this time.

Is there a salt water discount on the three in the video
We like the way you think 😄

Looks like a bath-tub with some wheels slapped on, not as hard as the designer should've been imho.
It’s not a motorcycle 🤔
Could you identify the beach. My welsh husband believes its the Gower.
My guess would be Pendine Sands.
i thought that too, rhossili?
Saddle bags! Nice leather saddle bags. No fringe. That’s all that is lacking.
I don’t like the digital display and I would have preferred a Mazda engine
If engine was out of a 1991 escort it would be a mazda
That has to be the most stupid ugly vehicle Morgan ever conceived. Sho themselves in the foot there.
Why the awful be music?
Bit naff ! All obsolete post 2030 No noise at all then !!
In fact, Morgan has said the new design allows for easy conversion to electric powerplants.
@@curbowman Your missing the point everyone raves about the engine , the noise, etc ..Electric is silent , faceless , clinical ..they are doomed.
What in God's Name is that idiotic noise and what have you done with our Three Wheeler?
Seriously.
