It took me on a magnificent trip down my memory lane when I went on a road trip in Ladakh in 2010 with my adventurous son. I have since lost him to Fate, but every minute of this tape brought him back to my arms, riding through those magical times. Make many more such trips, dear sojourner!

honestly much more than loveable! I actually feel like having roller coaster ride while watching the video! and I actually didn't know tourist destinations of India are so beautiful! lots of love
Yes , it is true. Majority of tourists throw their trash on the sides of the roads which is very shameful and reflects the cattle class mentality. India is a beautiful country but people of this beautiful nation are hell bent on making it ugly by these bad habits. Sudhar jao. Varna future generations bahut gaali dengi..😊🇮🇳
Brother i visit japan, every one carries a bag for thier own trash, and they will empty the trash once they return home in trash bin at home. Very clean roads parks and side walk you cannot see any trash bin in public. In singapore every one will look for rubbish bins in public to throw their trash. At home the throw in common chutes in the high rise. If cought throwing trash in public, you will be fine SGD $500.00 I saw in Indian apartments they threw trash indiscriminately through the windows in city. In public also they throw the rubbish indiscriminately. Western world and advanced countries population now got educated. Now we have to educate the local population. I wish to see clean India. An
At Upshi you have crossed the Indus. From Upshi to Leh it is around 90 km. Before Tandi the river to the left is Chandra. After crossing Tandi on your right is river Vaga. At the confluence at Tandi you see Chandravaga i.e Chenub, going to Udaipur, Triloknath and Pakistan.

I don't know how to comment. The drive through the beautiful places to heaven, LEH, is marvellous, as if I have travelled myself physically. It was too good drive. Enjoyed well.
nice! I enjoyed it a lot! since I was a kid I have being dreaming about visiting such far and lonesome places like the Karakorum Highway, Hindu Kush, Mustang, Ladakh, Buthan... and this trip also reminded me so much about my own home region in the southern Andes mountains, it was like driving at home!!!

In your notes it would be good to have details of where you stayed overnight, where did you stop for tea, snacks and restrooms.. which car did you use and was it a single person driving all through? Wahoo there is no barriers on the side of roads not even at sharp turns and conditions of roads in hilly areas is not really good government of India need to upgrade and widen these roads and also needs to make it more safer by putting safety barriers at turn at least if not on all road but anyway it's nice video thanks for sharing
Thank you for your opinion buddy. But we (who travel very often to Ladakh) would like it that way and hope for it to remain dangerous and remote. otherwise Ladakh will be like Shimla and Manali. Thats my personal opinion.
WAW, IT WAS WONDERFUL. I NEVER SAW ANYTHING SO BEAUTIFUL AND AT THE SAME TIME VERY DANGEROUS ROADS. I AM WATCHING FROM MY HOME IN GERMANY. YOU DID A FANTASTIC JOB. THANK YOU FOR SHOWING THIS TRIP.
I went to Leh 40 years ago as a pre- teen......in a caravan of Jongas- (Nissan Patrol vehicles)- (Defence Services brat and all that) slept in the 5th last Jonga (Rather than sleep in the accommodations on the way- rebel even at that age!) and reached there 5 days later. I remember my younger sister got altitude sickness for a few hours the first day and had to be put on oxygen. We were amongst the first families allowed there as it was designated a "Non Family Station" till then. While a lot of this video (Thank you for sharing- Shout out to you Long drive !) refreshed many distant memories, I am also surprised at the number of cars parked that you see on Leh's roads in your video. I don't remember there being even one civilian vehicle there! Anyway, it was one of the most memorable trips I have have had! Amazing scenery! Rivers and lakes! Buddhist monasteries with Monks chanting, scent of the candles/ incense burning, wonderful people, rotating prayer drums, awesome food.and of course the fluttering prayer flags. Fantastic destination! Will do it again one day hopefully soon.....So glad that it is no longer a part of the incendiary, terrorist driven, extremist Srinagar valley.
Thank you very much sir. I am glad. I have always wondered how the roads to Ladakh looked back in 70s 80s. If you have some pictures, please do share them with me at amitmetharu@gmail.com

Wow! Following your ride was amazing and adventurous! Thank you for sharing the beauty of God's creation in that part of the world!
Thank you very much
I went to Leh 40 years ago as a pre- teen......in a caravan of Jongas- (Nissan Patrol vehicles)- (Defence Services brat and all that) slept in the 5th last Jonga (Rather than sleep in the accommodations on the way- rebel even at that age!) and reached there 5 days later.
@@LongDrive They were all single lane. In better condition than now, probably due to less traffic. Will see if I have any pictures when I am in my ancestral home next time and will definitely forward you the same if I find any. Keep the great videos coming!
