Good idea, but they'd destroy all the stereos very quickly, and the facilities where more are made. Manufacturing is pretty loud, and so is power production.
I too have an ICD. Had it 6 years and so far had 3 shocks. I honestly didn't find them painful...but very scary, especially if you're not expecting it. I usually know when mine is going to deliver a shock but even knowing doesn't make it less scary. Hang in there, you're not alone! 👍😊

I know they're implanted and deliver a shock to heart muscles when it's going into arrhythmia (I'm guessing).... what condition are they used for (if you don't mind my asking)? My grandfather's heart would randomly start racing over like 155 BPM they had to trigger it and burn the part of the nerve causing it (in his heart) using a Stent. They said if it was not successful they'd have to do internal defib. He still had the episodes but extremely few and far between. He never got the defibrillator. 🤷♀️
@@JenniferFuchek you're actually pretty correct, my dad has a pacemaker & a defibrillator. He went into cardiac arrest 15 years ago & his heart still will just randomly stop beating, so hence the need for it. At least for him.

Ventricular Tachycardia is closet to your granddad had except that instead of the whole heart beating fast the ventricles beat rapidly and out of sync with the heart causing a very low amount of blood to pump
I had one before my heart transplant took care of the problem! I got shocked - a lot. And now have PTSS as a result. Whenever my heart rate speeds up, I subconsciously tense and wait for the shock that never comes!
It must be HELL for that deaf girl in that universe because she wouldn't be able to tell if she's making a sound that's too loud or not. Being deaf in a world where you have to keep yourself as quiet as possible would be a literal nightmare. My mom has gone through it a lot as well. She goes into AFib and needs to be shocked back into normal rhythm. I've seen her literally sobbing and beg the doctors to not do it because it's so messed up to do it conscious. Sorry you've had to go through it.

The weirdest thing I ever saw was a conscious patient, and the AED advised shock. You have to do it, but I'm not going to lie. I felt bad.
