I'm sure A.Gabrieli would be absolutely delighted. And Molino (who wrote the text) similarly to think the Venetian lagoon was remembered in such a way - as well as Willaert.
@@leif1075 You've got it - French for "The Singing Ducks!" It's a long story...the short version is that we got our start at the University of York whose unofficial mascot is a duck. And, well, we're a silly group. And it sounded better in French ;-)
@@lescanardschantants9770 I'm all about silly..may i please suggest a video where you sing five part harmony with a mallard?? Or with a small duck barbershop quartet..a small chorus of muscovy madrigals or something(sorry i like alliteration)....Please i need to see that..And thank you so much your video where you sing John Dowland's song Now, O Now while on a train ride through the most gorgeous places in Europe or I don't know what planet that was that you were riding that train through honestly (I wanna say Neptune?) but it was visual and musical therapy..they should play that in therapist's offices and spas all over the world! Hope to see more!
Focussing on singing within an ensemble while rowing is quite something, reminds me of how language learners train by shadowing (speaking in a different language while walking or doing another physical activity) which i guess is also happening here! I wonder if there's an old treatise somewhere suggesting this ahaha.
Ah, but to be a turtle, basking in the sun, when suddenly enveloped by another kind of light. The gorgeous lines are like almost tangible, emanating waves of divine essence, filling the air and becoming, with sky and clouds, yet another reflection from the surface of the water. Oh, but to be a turtle, dumb, rock-like thing that it is, is not to appreciate such music, no more than a stony, closed-in human heart can. Even so, such voices beckon and say, "Open, heart, open to the light," for great as the music is, the opened heart will be filled with still greater things.
Just beautiful. All those lucky frogs and turtles who got to hear you..
Suprême délice d'une vie, la musique est le langage des anges.
Maravilloso ❤ thank you
Очень необычно! Прекрасно :)

We thought it a fitting (spontaneous) tribute!
@@lescanardschantants9770 Nice why are you guys called The Singing Ducks in French? Or is it the other sense of the word canard?

@@leif1075 A mallard galliard, perchance?
MY GOD! What is with you people?!? The most awesome art... THANK YOU!
I love this video; the singing is amazing and it's more enjoyable because it's done on a canoe trip!

Mermaids, both single and married? That is such a wonderful piece, the best from that collection.
I couldn't remember what I had subscribed to and though "What's this?" When you started singing it was so beautiful I had to lie down, lol.
Thanks for coming back, glad we didn't scare you away!
Take a bow! Lovely rendition!
That sounds great. You guys are hillarious too :)
How did I miss this delight? Definitely sharing!
Don't forget the gentle flounder :D
This must have been _very_ spontaneous! Anyway, it was *Awesome!*

That's lovely and poetic, thank you!
This is SO GREAT :) :) :)
Hi George! Too bad you weren't there - there was even a kayak to spare...
Perfect.
Gabrieli would be amazed. But you please God, us mortals, plus the ducks, herons, and what have you.
Great!
Very enjoyable, and congratulations on your singing while paddling, but I missed the alto too far from mic! Great idea!
And kept the right intonation untill the end!
None of my friends ever sing madrigals in canoes. I'm jealous. Quack.
👏👏👏

We were just outside of Boscawen, New Hampshire!
