    I bought the Elite Screen ELECTRIC180H and just received it (03/30/2020) and it's newly-manufacture (know that because it was on back order from the plant). The screws that came with it are the same and so are the anchors. I have a utility room behind where I'm going to mount this 70+ pound projector, so I'm going to mount into a stud or re-enforce a stud to mount it to so that it won't sag and fall over time. I'm planning on mounting with a lag screen the same diameter as the 4 holes. Forgot to mention; all of the mounting holes are just that - holes. They aren't keyholes, which would be much more useful.

    this was a helpful video as I'm trying to find a 120" motorized screen below $$600

    The screen door effect is noticeable at what screen size and distance?

      fernandorat With my 2150 the screen door is noticeable to me if I’m standing up next to the screen 1-2 feet away (and really only if I’m specifically looking for it). When I’m sitting about 9 feet back it’s like watching a big beautiful tv 😊

    Nice and VERY helpful video!! Dumb question: if the mechanism to automatically lower and raise the screen breaks, is there a manual option?

    • @EightSixMatt
      @EightSixMatt  7 лет назад +2

      No, so that could suck and thats where you hope EliteScreens honors their warranties :D I hadn't even considered this myself.

    Dumb question... using a universal remote for up and down... does it have to be the harmony remote or could it be any other universal remote? And do you happen to still have the code customer service provided you... I just bought one from a guy and he didn’t have a remote or Manuel... thank you

    • @EightSixMatt
      @EightSixMatt  4 года назад

      No I don't think it has to be a harmony remote. I also think I found the codes finally from a user pre-built setup that was in the harmony app.
      HERE IS THE PROBLEM THOUGH! Programming the universal remote usually and almost always requires the previous existing remote to program successfully (at least in my experience). I would say see if Elite Screens would be willing to sell you a cheap replacement remote (or maybe even just send you one) and go from there. They should be able to accommodate this. Sorry this isn't more helpful.

    I just got a 125" Spectrum Series and the Xiaomi Laser Ultra Short Throw.
    I still haven't even hung it up.
    I'm trying to find a solution to set it up with Google home thow.
    Anyhow, hopefully I don't see waves on the screen that will drive me crazy. Lol
    Thanks for all the info. :)

    • @EightSixMatt
      @EightSixMatt  6 лет назад +1

      Rebelsin you’ll have to tell me what you think of that Xiaomi, I took a soft pass on it for now ( too expensive) but a lot of videos are out about it and make it look pretty nice.

    • @Rebelsin
      @Rebelsin 6 лет назад

      Eight-Six I'll give you my honest opinion.

    • @Rebelsin
      @Rebelsin 6 лет назад

      So I tried the Xiaomi Ultra short throw. Dude!!!
      I wasn't expecting it to be as bad a** as all the hype. Lol
      This thing looks amazing, especially once I figured out how to turn on the 4k HDR support.
      I have 2 Philips hue lights on each side of the room on the ceiling, and with the brightest settings of the bulbs, you can STILL see a very clear picture.
      This blew me away man.
      Getting the menu to English was a pain in the a**, but definitely well worth it.
      I still don't get everything in English, but I use my phone with Google translate to navigate through the Chinese menus. Lol
      I hope they update this soon.
      The other thing I didn't like is that there is NO Google Play, so you can't even use RUclips nor RUclips TV on it.
      But I have an Xbox one x, si I just use these apps on there.
      I do see some waves images that have objects with straight lines, but I've been leaving the projector screen open as requested by Elite Screens to get rid of the molded lines you also see from it being rolled up for such a long time.
      Anyhow, the waves are now less pronounced.
      That being said, I think this screen is awesome screen for the money
      I am definitely happy with the quality and value of the screen.
      Especially when finding out that a motorized screen with the extra tension and "cinawhite" is around another $1000. Lol

      I have passed on the Xiaomi projector a few times (price mainly) (at this point there are tons of videos out there) I'm glad someone with a first hand experience can shoot some opinion my way.
      Xiaomi is a solid company. Usually we think Chinese companies are MEH at best, and they face the stigma of 'poor quality china crap' but there are definitely brands like Xiaomi that ROCK tech.
      Don't expect Xiaomi to adjust anything, that projector (like their laptop I reviewed) are not intended for the western market at all. Until they officially expand, I don't see them offering any real US support for their east-specific products.

      Eight-Six I pretty much waited till I moved and had the space and money for it. It is pricey, but I'd say it's well worth it. The 5000 lumens are NO JOKE. Lol
      I know the price is going to drop drastically soon, they just came out with a 7000 lumens that looks a lot like it. Aside from the 7000 lumens, it's dark grey.
      Anyhow, keep an eye out for that price drop.

    Hello, I am getting the LG PF1000u tomorrow, I am headed to Best Buy this weekend and I was looking at the screen, Due to the cost of the projector I was hoping to stay within a $200 budget for a screen. I would appreciate any recommendations on this. Thank Your...Pete

    • @EightSixMatt
      @EightSixMatt  6 лет назад

      Are you looking for anything in particular? Short throw and UST projectors do better on ALR/CLR (Ambient Light Reduction/Ceiling Light Reduction) screens. These screens can get a bit pricey though. Keep in mind I go bare wall with my 1000U. There are times I look at it and know a screen would really go a long ways with picture/contrast, but having used it the way I have used 1.0-0.6 gain would be fine in my book.

    Any problems with the screen becoming wavy over time?

  • @RAMtrails
    @RAMtrails 7 лет назад

    any ripples? I'm worried about that. I LOVE the idea of getting a Dual Max with two screens 2.35:1 and 16:9 but I'm worried about ripples on a pull down

    • @EightSixMatt
      @EightSixMatt  7 лет назад

      Its weighed by a pretty heavy bar to keep the screen straight and even. I was surprised how nice and flat it looked the first time I used it. Their manual says to let it rest for 24 hrs but I feel that was just a precautionary thing. Its taut like a tab-tension screen (at least mine is).
      I don't know about the manual pull downs, but I would assume they are similar in design, just no motor casing.
      2.35:1 such a wide aspect ratio :D

    Do you find that the screen has some wrinkle??? Is it tab tensioner?

    • @EightSixMatt
      @EightSixMatt  5 лет назад

      I don't have any wrinkles on mine no. It's installed in a weighted drop down bar and is smooth on my model.

      @@MyFriendsPodcast Oh no, this screen is legit awesome for the price. You start poking around and everyone has opinions on screens/colors/paints but if you're going long cast than this screen it's pretty jam up in my book.
      If you were talking about going UST or ST I'd recommend something with ALR but for the 2150, perfect combo.
