When you have enemy cav, or meatshield snare, the difference between rods and musk is speed, a musket is slower in melee mode, and a rodellero can snare the cav much faster, guaranteeing the loss of the enemy cav or making them reluctant to dive into falcs, if enemy has no cav, and has infantry instead, you use your rodellero to snare your enemy musks or make them as a meatshield for your falcs. downside of a rodellero is they suck at siege so they needed to be accompanied by falcs
I don't understand why you would ever engage 2 falc supported spain with ruskets. You gotta retreat and make cav or age up
