ONE has been putting on some absolutely insane fights. When it comes to combat sports as a whole, i don’t see how anyone can argue the depth of their roster 🔥 great breakdown, great drill, great video!
Superbon's right mid to high kick was (obviously) there all night and was landing consistently until eventually catching and knocking Petrosyan completely out cold. Fear the man who practices only one kick but a thousand times rather than the man who practices a thousand kicks.
I love how he used basic Muay Thai foundations to get his KO against a fighter like Petrosyan. Goes on to demonstrate the importance of great the fundamentals.
I saw this KO so many times. Not once have I noticed that Superbon clips his opponent with the gloves before hitting him with the roundhouse kick. Super breakdown. Thank you, also for the drills. Your videos are always very interesting and entertaining.🙏🏻
Landed one of these on my bag yesterday but w/ my ankle. Feels lovely....I should probably learn how to do these properly. Literally after recovering from breaking my other foot on the bag, and this is just a XXL standing bag too, not even heavy/filled (other than the base).
Brilliant breakdown, but I’m not sure that I agree regarding Superbon’s swinging arm playing a role in the KO. It’s the left hook which slightly freezes Petrosyan, that head kick was ending things regardless of the swinging arm slightly glancing him a millisecond before.
It's an anticipation kick. Ryan Hall has done some kicks like this in UFC, where he anticipates where the opponent will be after X milliseconds and aims a kick for that. To do this: you must be close enough to uppercut and you must have conditioned the opponent to get back into range as they must think they have you against the fence and can do some bag work on you. This makes it more probable that they will return to that ideal positioning. If you know the ideal positioning (from similar separations earlier; at least 2: so the brain anticipates the majority of probability is with the 3rd. 2/3 = 66% == the first deciding point of evidence that the brain uses while adrenaline is active.). And so you condition them with rehearsed back and forth exchanges, 2 times, on the 3rd time you look like you are stepping forward with a punch and as they go into counter punch stance you bring the foot to the chin which will be close to the anticipated area. Edit: and when you think they have caught on with the 3rd one, you can counter their counter by anticipating it.
Great perspective. How I saw it was Superbon setup 2 mid kicks making Petrosyan drop his hands anticipating a 3rd mid kick but instead Superbon went high. With an addition to pushing Petrosyans head right into the kick
he actually tried that kick numerous times in that fight, and rather you try to break down technique etc. or not, to reach that level of hip dexterity is something you will have to devote a lot of time from a pretty young age.
Can you explain why fighters use technical style at the beginning of the fight and when their opponent stands back up from a knock down they start swinging with those haymakers , i mean if swinging with big punches is the best method to knock someone out , why don't they just do that since the fight's beginning?
swinging with wild punches is not the best method for a professional fighter, it only works when the opponent is not expecting wild punches. if both fighters decided to brawl and swing with big punches, it would be like gambling, throwing all their technical training away.
Superbon has good high kicks. But that’s all he has basically ☝️ Tawanchai defeated him with side teeps and speed 😤 Another thing, Superbon is too slow. Tawanchai punished him a lot for his slow speed with accurate counters

The height he can achieve on those kicks is mind blowing, dude has next level hip dexterity
he jumps with the spin
Not really. You dont even have to be able to do a full split to do head kick. Taekwondo guys or shaolin monks are much more impressive
@@damanOts dude is literally doing a standing split in the thumbnail

More enjoyable than UFC these days
Props to Shane for always showing us how to do a thing or two at the end, this will help me a lot.
Ooh, been a while since I've been around, but all the same, major congrats on 3 million subs, Shane! 👏🥳

Reminds me of MMAShredded and the way he fights moving his head off the centreline while he counters
Ohh, I didn't notice that Superbon froze Giorgio's head with the hand, thanks for the breakdown!
Your kick control and technique leaves me in awe man! So nice to watch. Top videos Shane

Great breakdown. I use that long guard to guide the head into my kick. Pretty sure thats what happened there.
Thank you for the detailed break down on technique and training tips!
Giorgio Petrosyan is the best kick boxing fighter in the world, you should do a video about him
That was a great fight. Trainer Gae did a good job to prepare him. Nice video bruh
Don't get better than Trainer Gae!!
I can watch this video over and over :)...thanks again
That mawashi ko kick is the best in Muay Thai
Love the passion ace, great vid super detail, feel like I'm ready to add some technique to my arsenal 😊👍👍👍
Can’t wait
Superbons bread and butter is so crushingly powerful fast and accurate.

I wish Shane would fight in One Championship and also do a video collaboration with JEFF CHAN
I cannot wait for Superbon and Hyperbon to collide one day

Yes! Gave him false confidence in his patterns, then gained a little extra height by leaping off the ground an inch or 2 👍

Hi Shane
Wud u recommend kicks in a street fight
You know it’s over when the feet cross
Bro, you gotta be on the Joe Rogan Experience
Awesome!!! Osu
Seems fun to me to say that Superbon ("super-bon") means super good in French :)
I did not know that -- thanks for sharing! Certainly fitting!

Kind of looks like he used that right hand to pull the head toward the kick like a thai clinch knee, or dirty boxing style

In the beginning of the fight they both in peak of their strength, one solid hit can end the match So caution is required.
