yeah, no hate at all for vr, I feel he might have been forced to release this even without it being unfinished
Guess we hope for his other VIP and BA's VIPs won't ended up like this one
I mean this probably just originated as an edit for live performance and maybe people were asking for it. He also might have been focusing on other projects in the works.

Haven't seen such a unanimously negative response on Disciple since Riot Ten.
Riot ten was pure bullshit, this in the other hand, it's ok, but disappointing
Surprising that this time it was on a VR track which people tend to praise just because it’s VR. Really shows how much of a dissapointment/bad track (however you wanna call it) this is...

Rushdown....
Drop is hard af, but sadly everything else sounds a bit rushed to me! Still super happy this got finally released after 3 years!
@@AlphaSquadTeaBag The buildup was missing some elements and I feel as if this track a bit rushed to be released, same could be said about after the 1st drop which just led to the end of the track because there was no second drop.

Yup, pretty much what I was expecting. Such a far cry of the godly original. Like someone else said, great to spice up a set but the complete opposite when it's just listening with headphones or a speaker.
sure the intro and stuff may sound a bit rushed, but that drop is fire

3:10 My disappointment is immeasurable and my vibe is ruined
ikr? 1 drop like wtf
absolutely ruined ;-;
Wait that's a drop?
Tbh doesn't feels like one for this track
Yeah seriously wtf is that
I agree with other people about this missing elements. It’s a bit too empty to be a VR song, but its still sick imo.
ok so everyone is complaining, but we all remember this was made for live sets right? the drop was made first, still disappointing but not trash
This drop is so boring. Heard VR live at ROA, and was ready to dance to the og Show Up drop, but no, this shitty drop must be played. It was a disappointment all along.
Didn't enjoy the drop of this VIP when I heard it in insomniac and I was hoping, TRULY hoping that the second drop will spin a VIP on its head like the cry some more VIP but yh.. yk
We aren't at a live set though. Many artists have live versions of their songs that never get released *because* they are live versions. This argument never makes sense to me because when you officially release a song, you come to terms with the fact that your listeners will be listening to and judging your song on headphones or home speakers. Everybody has a right to complain because this is far from Virtual Riot quality execution.
@@wheresmydrink4552 I thought of it as somewhat cool way of a little spin at the beginning with the intro being the outro of the original version. And then a little tune on Virus Syndicate’s vocals made it just a little better for me. Specifically stating, this may not have been his best work but it certainly wasn’t the worst release that was ever made. On that note, I don’t really find “live” songs that are played in venues and whatnot only a valid reason for not releasing it though. I remember that Eliminate had a track ID that stayed there for well over a year or two before he decided to release it on the Vol.6 Disciple collab. Idk, if some tracks weren’t meant to be, then 🤷♂️
@@fireblitz3438 Oh trust me. I don't think the whole "this song is only meant for live venues" thing applies to this track at all. I think that remark only applies to live versions of song that aren't different enough from the original to warrant a VIP (or sometimes an artist will mix a song specifically for clubs/festivals). The only reason I brought it up is because the original commenter seemed to be implying that we should hold off on criticism or complaining because the drop was originally intended for live sets and not for home/car listening. Which I don't agree with. I think this song should get the same level of criticism that any other VR song gets
And yeah this track had good moments. But overall, not the quality I expect from VR. But to each their own
idc what everyone else is saying, the drop is fucking dope

3:11 .....
No suena como si fuera una demo
Big respect for Virtual Riot in the original release, but also other releases, which he has been strong in several. However in this, this sounds more like something to spice up a set, than to be worthy of a release. It's a mixed first drop, with elements to just mix the next track. Maybe VR didn't know what more could be done to the VIP, but either way, we must respect and appreciate Disciple's move of giving us more music. This, however, doesn't excuse this particular track of its laziness. Hardly a 4/10 just for the 1st drop. I can't play this on speakers like this as a whole. But I'm wondering what others have to say about this track :)
To me what you explain is exactly what the title VIP is made for. It variates in some way to the original that is somehow entertaining differently. People were screaming for that drop to be released as a VIP and he built a functioning song around it. I enjoyed it!
Edit: I just recognized how few was changed from the original though and I get the complains. I forgot about certain parts and thought they were new. My bad!
This and the rest of the VIPs were probably made to do exactly that. I bet BA and VR were saving these for the shows they were supposed to play last year. Obviously that didn't pan out because of the whole pandemic thing, but they still wanted to show their fans the tracks. I'm not huge on a lot of them either, but I appreciate them as a small slice of new material while (I hope) bigger things are coming later. i dunno if that makes sense lmao
(also I can guarantee you I'd lose my mind if I heard this for the first time at a set)
VIPs were always made for sets or mixes, never meant for releases. Your feelings are the exact definition of the term xD
@@scottymcelravy9952 Not really duh, a VIP can technically be everything the artist wants it to be. Just a fun project, something to be played at sets, or whatever they like. There aren't really "rules" in music.
@@striidy7587 true, but VIPs are typically made for the live experience
Um....I love Virtual Riot and Virus Syndicate but I'm not vibing with this at all sorry

Same 😞
Songs like this demonstrate that labels think it's acceptable to release half-ass tunes. I can't place all the blame on VR here, because the _label_ is meant be the quality control! This honestly just shows us what a shitty place the industry is in right now; with labels like Subsidia (and sometimes Disciple!) releasing pure quantity instead of quality. This needs to change. The priorities of the ARTISTS need to be #1. I'd rather wait 5 years and get a fully-finished VR album than have Disciple force him to release his old wips so that they can profit off of him. We need labels like Halcyon to continue setting an example of how the artists come BEFORE the label's profit.
*Disclaimer this is just my opinion.
On a lighter note, don't try telling me that the drop doesn't slap hard af XD. I've been waiting for this wip since he first played it out a few years ago.
Disciple is one of my favorite label, but the thing is lost every member sounds same

@@RaviYadav-bj6mw Halcyon is producing music with 1,000,000,000,000,000x better quality. Hell even NSD:BL has more intricate visuals and quality control.
Im still baffled that Disciple is releasing stuff like this while also being the same label that gave Tritone (Chime x Franky Nuts x Oliverse) a platform to have their debute EP
Dude Idk if you will like hearing this or not, but you sound like a Karen. It's great that you care so much about quality and stuff, truth is though, majority of Dubstep fans don't and that isn't its merit either, as a genre that shits all over dynamics. Yeah this track isn't perfect, that's how it is, but not everything can be a Halcyon release and shouldn't have to be.
Really underproduced, I don’t think this should’ve been released yet. Loved the drop concepts but the other sections are so empty.
did you mistaken the demo over the finished one?
the buildup... uhh, hello?
I like the intro but the buildup is very unorthodox😂 it's like when you're making a buildup and you haven't finished putting in all the elements
Yep, same here.
Although, let's be real.
Virtual Riot, good song or not, still has some skill present in the tracks, regardless of their quality.
But in fact, this doesn't meet our expectations unfortunately.
I actually really like the build. It's definitely less hype than it could be but it still slaps
@@phrygid5978 ehhh, sounds too empty for me

Not the one with lyrics. It’s already optimized and should not be tampered with
i fucking love self checkout, a vip would be amazing
you cant really call a song "optimized"
Komputermusik was already a masterpiece, a VIP would be even better
I knew that a VIP of Show Up would most likely end in disappointment since the original is god tier and flawless.
@@mirco5530 I think what was ment with optimized is that the track is built around the lyrics or they atleast were a very important part of it. Changing a song from that point is hard if I had to say anything about it

Literally missing a second drop, some other elements found in a VR track, and whatever other minimal issues I've read so far.. Damn near reading how people plotting on holding Disciple HQ at gunpoint or some shit. Because of it T-T
The only thing that sounds kinda good is the first drop, the rest is very disappointing
The intro and buildup changed, I'm happy that it was
Viva disciple.
I'm so happy to hear the revised drop I saw in a live set 3 years ago, but I'm kinda underwhelmed with everything else, the beginning was nice, but the buildup seemed slow, and was disappointed with only one drop in a 4 min song. (3:11 bruh) with that being said, the drop is amazing, and I'm still gonna blast it!
EDIT: I've noticed that at 1:52, the sound changes, it sounds like it was copy pasted, and then rushed to be finished.
Really bro? the same demo only now official ... what a VR impression haha.
Making a VIP out of your song is like remixing your own song

Not changing your mind because that's exactly what it's supposed to be
This VIP wasn't bad, it just has so much more potential. It's sad and disappointing, but I don't blame VR. I wouldn't mind waiting another year for him to completely finish everything. Tbh, I wouldn't hate it if he made the second drop the same as the first. But still great nonetheless, the intro and buildup did justice for this song.
It doesn’t take long to finish a song and this is over 2 years old. I think it’s fair to say he didn’t care about the vip as much as he did and he just wanted to get it out
everyone talking about how the thing only sounds good in the first drop but i can't figure out where rhe second drop is supposed to be

Alright, now hear me out real quick. Yo Val, don't worry man, it's the producer's nature to cook up different types of tracks, ones good, and others bad, and to get bad reviews and so on. I understand this man, that's why i stopped releasing for a ton of months, so that i could get my head straight on my work.
This drop slaps and that's what matters the most in Riddim, so raise your head knowing you've made both the original and the VIP, both masterpieces, the epic work of Virtual Riot, an unmatched legendary producer
