Is just to download the App and fill the form, attach the necessary documents pay, submit and wait for your new passport to be posted to you after renewal.

Dear minister I have applied for my passport renewal in Germany since September up till now I am yet to get my passport. Infact the tracking site was still reading waiting for NIN confirmation after two months. I still believe there are still corrupt and inefficient guy trying to frustrate the minister effort. If I do not get my passport in the next week I may have to lead a campaign against this inefficiency.
Some people are singing praises. But, have no idea what's happening on ground. My wife and kids applied for passport renewal in London since June. No appointments available at the Nigerian High Commission. I've made several attempts to call them, but no response. The so-called new app doesn't work. Scan the code, and you get an error message saying the site can't be reached. All complaints to London and NIS HQ ignored. We nor dey shame at all. Na just to talk talk.
How about many people living in Oversea country but have not gotten their NIN? How can our embassy saying that one have to travel from Asian country to Nigeria only to take NIN number.

Contactless passport is not working oooo. I have tried it more than 6 times. It keeps showing errors when I try to do online biometrics overseas. I call naija number which the minister said it is 247, it was switched. The time it rang, nobody picked up. Make dem work on it ooo abeg..

Oga Minister, Just go to our Borders with our Neighbouring Countries...Apart from Seme Border, In other Borders the NIS is still using bare hands to do Security Checks on IDs and Stamping of Passports at the Borders. While serious Countries had embarked on Digitalisation. Oga, Go to Owede, Igolo, Iduroko Borders with Benin Republic. The Benin Immigration uses Computer in all they do. While the NIS is still using the manual method. Anyway, On the Nigerian side of the Border it is always Darkness as usual... What a Shame ! Giant of Nonsense!
In summary, during this interview Interior Minister Ojo did a good job at deflecting on questions he ought to have answered for required citizens' trust and confidence building; displayed a very high degree of arrogance with shouting by grandstanding to claim national security; and left no discerning person in doubt that he saw the platform as an avenue for justifying procurements under his watch. For example, he tried giving the impression as if APIS wasn't functional in Nigeria before. All that he said about the issuance and/or renewal of a Nigerian passport was not what the Nigerians were expecting from the administration. What Nigerians are expecting now is the elongation of the lifespan of their Nigerian passports from 5 years to 10 years as application in most of the countries in the world. It's embarrassing to know that Ghana which is very small to Nigeria in terms of everything is giving its citizens a 10 years passport. The only reason Nigeria is still bent on a 5 years passport is based on corruption. If the honourable minister truly prepared to serve his fatherland, he should extend the lifespan of our Nigerian passport from 5 years to 10 years.

The honourable minister is only on this programme to blow grammar and to defend the President of the country and their political party.
All that he said about the issuance and/or renewal of a Nigerian passport was not what the Nigerians were expecting from the administration.
What Nigerians are expecting now is the elongation of the lifespan of their Nigerian passports from 5 years to 10 years as application in most of the countries in the world.
It's embarrassing to know that Ghana which is very small to Nigeria in terms of everything is giving its citizens a 10 years passport.
The only reason Nigeria is still bent on a 5 years passport is based on corruption.
If the honourable minister truly prepared to serve his fatherland, he should extend the lifespan of our Nigerian passport from 5 years to 10 years.
