omg, this was so helpful, thank you! mine was the protective film, stuck halfway out. i did change the batteries, but it was still stuck (i could close my lens). after watching your video, i realized i needed to pull a LOT harder, and wiggle it side to side, shimmying a little on each end, at a time. it worked! the protective one finally came out, and the next picture was fine! thank you!
Hey i found i solution, depending on where you film is stuck, if the film is poking out a lot, try your best to pull it out as gentle as you can. if you film is stuck inside you will have to do the steps in the video. i had my protective film stuck in my camera and 70% of it was out and the rest was stuck, i did the mistake of taking my film cartage out and trying to pull from inside the camera, and it didn't budge so i had no choice but to pull from the top. i found that even if you do it in the dark your film gets exposed anyways so best choice is to pull from the top to prevent it getting exposed. i hope this helps you.

I still did what she said. I covered my camera with my clothes and removed on my own the first layer of the film carefully. 1st film was blank but after that Its all good. 😊
I forgot I even commented this lol but I reached out to fujjifilm they told me to fill out this repair form if your camera is under warranty a replacement camera is free if it’s not it’ll be 50 dollars! I got my new one few weeks ago!
My problem was that the picture did print, but was stuck in the roller outside the camera. None of this applied to me, BUT hearing you say you were pulling it in a zig zag motion, one corner and then the other actually got me to pull my photo out safely. Of course, the camera was fine and acted as if nothing happened after. Thanks for the zig zag tip! I’ll know this for later if my Polaroid prints the other way 😭

It is stuck in there badly enough that even with all my force I can not get the film canister out halfway. WHAT DO I DO. I have the mini 90 & this has never happened before (I've shot several packages of film). The leader and an exposure tried coming out at the same time.
I had the same issue and honestly, you have to be a bit more aggressive than you want to be and CONSTANTLY wiggling it. I found that once I could get the bottom component up (not even the halfway point that she had, but just enough I could get a bit out) I propped a flat head screw driver underneath and kept pulling. I was probably pulling (and with some seriously concerning force) for about 15-20 min. Eventually it came out and I yanked the film out but tbh, I thought I broke something because I heard a noise... but she's good now!! I hope you can fix your camera! best of luck
If its happened, 1st step - change the old batteries with the brand new 2AA 2nd step - open the back cover 3rd step - press the shutter button to release the jammed film then lift slightly the film cartridge at the same time. 4th step - put it back the back cover And its ready to go. Im using mini9.

Hi, I accidentally inserted the new cartridge the wrong way and I finally got it out with a knife and I took photos but it had small dark circles. You think the camera was damaged or maybe with a new cartridge it will work just fine. I havent tried with a new one.
My daughter's recently had a picture jam in the ejection slot. When I removed it, all the lights were flashing on front and the camera wasn't working. Tried new batteries without the film pack. Also tried new film pack. Nothing worked. What eventually did for me was taking out the batteries and film pack, putting in the film pack back in first THEN putting in the batteries. Only problem now is the counter doesn't advance properly, but at least it's taking pictures again.
Can i ask a question? My problem is whenever i replace my film cartridge and put the new one then take a picture the protective film always got stuck on the place where the films goes out? I dont know what to do. Help :
same thing with mine, I just remove the cartridge out then pull the dark slide and put the film back in, the first film always get wasted because its been exposed, well I have nothing to do.

I've followed your instructions all the way to "wriggling it out in a zig-zag" but the top part wont come out (the end with the yellow tab). I think because its the film protector cover that is jammed, not the film, its extra stuck.. I'm scared to pull to hard in case I break something. please help :(
Hi....I removed the stuck film but looks like I broke the lever the holds the film...the film pack now goes on easily and when I turn over the camera it falls out meaning there’s nothing holding it..the lever is up??? Plus all lights still flashing 😭😭

Mine is Instax mini 8 , the film got stuck halfway while it was coming out. I made the mistake of pulling the film out from the outside (top) since it was halfway out.. (I did that before I found your video). Now the indicator to show the number of films is stuck between going from 1 to 0 and when I on my camera, the light detector (for exposure) does not have any red light on any of the settings However, at the back of my camera (top right at the viewing lens) there’s a flash that is consistently red. Any idea how to fix this problem? My batteries are correct 1.5v alkaline battery so no it’s not battery problem. Thank you!!

Yes! Cleaning out the rollers always help with the streaks on the film. If the pictures are coming out completely black it could be because of the lens. Unless you mean black as in the chemicals pockets broke.

haha well now the film is out and I did it with little hassle, however I have a Neo classic 90 and when I go to power it on now the lens no longer opens and the digital screen keeps flashing a number 3. battery is charged and there no longer any film in there but its still doesn't wanna register that its not jammed anymore.

Mine did this twice but it was the protective plastic thing. I already knew to pull it out obviously. The first time when I turned my camera on the lights blinked until I took it out. The second time I took it out but now the lights still blinking.

If the ones that stuck is your protective film. Just change the battery (different brands). It will pop out right away.

For everyone saying the protective film gets stuck, you have to pull the film square out quite forcefully but you run the risk of breaking the camera

Changing batteries and turning camera on/off few times worked for me. It is also what Fujifilm recommends in manual.
Just did this and it worked like a charm! Haven't tested the film and camera yet, but thankful the protective sheet is no longer stuck!

If its happened,

HDX AA alkaline batteries worked for me after trying a bunch of other ones. i hope this helps !!

I have a question. So the dark slide got stuck and I was being super rough and I broke the film, but all of the pictures that I took after had this like streaky purple look but after I like let them sit for a long time the picture developed completely black. Is the camera or the film please help...
penny pinch it was probably the ink or chemicals that came out of the broken cartridge

Yes! Cleaning out the rollers always help with the streaks on the film. If the pictures are coming out completely black it could be because of the lens. Unless you mean black as in the chemicals pockets broke.

is there anything you can do to fix it if the lever does get stuck as well?

Hello. I have a problem with my camera. I already remove the film that stack inside the poloraid. When i put back the new film inside the poloraid, it still the same. Still stack inside the poloraid? Any suggestion to solve this thing? I need help

What if you put the film backwards and try taking a picture, does it damage the camera ? HELP!!!
no ur camera will be fine u just need to take the film out carefully :)
So..lol it did damage the little mechanical part that slides the photos out-.-
YOOOOOO THIS SOLVED MY PROBLEM! ALL I HAD TO DO WAS TO FORCE THE CARTRIDGE OUT BECAUSE THE COVER FILM WAS STUCKED, EVEN THE BATTERIES THAT ARE NOT ALKALINE IS NOT THE PROBLEM
Hi any more help please ? My protective film got stuck, and I have removed it. But after putting back in the film the camera won't work anymore
the protective sheet got stuck and i was able to get it out but all the camera lights still kept flashing afterwards :(

haha well now the film is out and I did it with little hassle, however I have a Neo classic 90 and when I go to power it on now the lens no longer opens and the digital screen keeps flashing a number 3. battery is charged and there no longer any film in there but its still doesn't wanna register that its not jammed anymore.
That’s not my problem...when I take photos on my instax mini 9 it keeps getting jammed but not inside I take photos a little bit comes out and then it stops coming out

My mini 8 had the same case but even after removing the cartridge and re inserting....the lights keep blinking through and it still wont click. Please help!!😥😥😥

I cant get the film container out on my Instax mini 9 the protective layer is stuck (but not sticking out) followed the steps but the container will only come out half way at the bottom

There is still a yellow line so there is still film but it wont print out. When i took the film canister out, there was nothing stuck in the back. I don’t know what to do...
Hi, my film got stuck, I pulled it out and then the camera no longer works. The silver lever in the right bottom corner has moved up... can this be fixed? Thank you!

My protective film was stuck actually and I have managed to take it out and re installed the film. But still I see lights blinking in the camera even after changing the batteries
After removing the stuck film and placing the remaining films, still all the lights continue to on. so i cant use the remaining films,will they all waste now? if it has a solution please share me😢

Mine did this twice but it was the protective plastic thing. I already knew to pull it out obviously. The first time when I turned my camera on the lights blinked until I took it out. The second time I took it out but now the lights still blinking.
Try cleaning your rollers :)
