I wish we worked together! I don’t blame you- don’t do ANYTHING that you don’t want to. These administrators get out of the classroom and forget who they once were- teachers. I agree with everything you said- a focus wall is NOT going to change those state test scores. They just need to stop with their shenanigans!!! I enjoyed this!!!

LOL you sound like me with what we have to have hanging on our walls for the IB Program 😂 Like... _"Y'all, imma put that up but I need to have a Word Wall -- middle schoolers can't even spell 'student'!"_
While I do think that students/ observers need 1 place where the general info is held, uhhhhh... _"You gonna help me put that up or nah⁉️"_ 👀

At the school I work for we can’t really use food as reward or punishment because it might cause food insecurity complex in some children, especially those with food issues at home. By food, I mean things like cookies, cupcakes, popsicles, or in this case Chic Fl-A.
However, a piece of candy, small toy, or a sticker can be earned.

Thanks for having the courage to say no. I always feel like I'll be fired for not following their expectations, but I'm also to the point that its impossible to do it all so i have to choose where my priorities are. We have a new admin team and they want to implement so many new things at once, and I'm just sitting here saying ive had a new AP every year I've been here. How long will they really last? Theres a Halloween door decorating contest that I'm really thinking about not doing because where do I find time?

THEY MESSED UP MY PRINTED SCHEDULE, TOO 🙄 They messed up so bad that they're adding a whole grade of students _(I'm a specials teacher)_ that I asked about several times when I first got it.
And when they confronted me about something that happened in my room, I asked them what their school policy is. They were like "Well, it's up to each teacher to give & enforce expectations, even to paras" 😒 THAT DON'T ANSWER MY QUESTION!
These Black school admins be ON 1 -- they don't support us adequately, yet want us lying on their behalf in these district admins' faces. I'm new to this school. They don't know that I burned that cape 2 BURNOUTS AGO.

    lmao "I'm not doing that."
that's what I been saying this year. "I don't want to do that, but nice idea."
My walls are completely blank. I don't keep anchor sheets up cause I realized the kids don't even use them. when I want them to reference somethign I put it on the main screen and they reference it. and my kids are doing great. If it's working, don't ask me to change. Clearly the kids area working! stop micro managing me and find something to do! The micromanaging is so crazy this year. I do so much and buy so much for my classroom. But they will nitpick the shit out of you!!!!! Like ok you did ALL this shit but can you do this super tiny thing like no. it's the principle.

Try not to have an attitude over the kid who doesn’t log into his computer correctly. Some people, even adults, are not computer savvy. Maybe watch him log in next time just to make sure that he doesn’t miss any steps.

@@Teachingonsunshine , ask him where he is having trouble. Tell him to show you step by step. I remember having to use Welligent for an administrative job I used to have. I was the only one in the entire office who had trouble with the program. I tried really hard to understand how to use it to schedule meetings and print reports, etc, but it was impossible. This caused a lot of tension at work so I left eventually.

@@Here2There-1 I'm not asking him anything. We teach two different t age groups. At 8 you're supposed to be independent. I have a student with special needs that can do it without a problem. I'm very accommodating. I have made log in cards for all 17 of my kids because of him. I've given him access to my iPad. It's amazing how he can get on Roblox and Minecraft without a problem. When I told him that he would be taking that test during PE miraculously the iPad worked and he finished the test. I do not play with my class as I've mentioned before. Do my work on my time or do it on your time. You pick.
