- ta-da!! the first long-awaited thrifting vlog!
I loved making my last come thrift with me vlog so when I visited tasmania last week and found some cool thrift stores, I decided I wanted to make another thrift vlog / come thrift with me video!! this time we're going across the state of tasmania in Australia! I love a good thrift shop trip so we visited vinnies, salvos (or salvation army), some independant thrift stores and even a luxury designer consignment store, all in the quest to have some fun on our impromptu holiday and to try and find the best vintage pre-loved finds to create the wardrobes of our dreams! I can't promise the best thrifting tips or thrift flips but I can promise you will be haunted by spooky knick knacks

💥 Flashing / Strobing Lights Warning 💥

I actually think that polka sweater looked stunning on you, but I can totally understand if it felt too small. Buying something you know you’ll be uncomfortable in is never the move. lol Fun video altogether, though, I enjoyed the ride! 🥰
ngl I agree that in the clips it looks pretty cute 😩 but the arms were so tight so I had like webbing on my armpits 🥸 but it is so adorable and someone else will get to love it 🥺💖 tysm for watching 💕

As a Hobartian I would have recommended the South Hobart Tip Shop and City Mission Opshop warehouse in Moonah as well, but you went to the main places :)

For when you return…Launceston actual has lots more Opshops than Hobart, including 3 really big warehouse type stores (one even has a cafe in it).
For Hobart Opshops, the better stores are in New Town and Moonah (5-10 min from city centre in a car). There’s a really big Salvo’s Shop in the centre of Hobart, in the bus mall (this shop is very stylish, and has more upperclass items).
The tipshops in Glenorchy, West Hobart and Mornington are also very good, but more for nick-nack retro vintage items.

This was fun to watch! Part of thrifting is just the fun of exploring things you never knew existed. As long as the trip was fun then it is still worth it. 💜

I love watching these types of videos, that polka dot jumper was gorgeous! This was just what I needed to cheer me up, I've been very ill for the past couple of weeks with a dental abscess, only just starting to feel better now. Going to watch your colour analysis vid now, thanks Lucy! 😘
The dressing gown thing at the end is a housecoat. A vintage item for wives to stay warm in winter and still look nice
Vlog-style is good on whatever channel is chosen. Edited, more structured videos can be fun to watch, but take so much time for the creator to prep. Beware the burnout! My personal favorite is a long-length vlog-style video. I admire Lucy being able to walk through so many vintage/thrift shops without buying anything. I usually will talk myself into at least one piece which often results in buyer's remorse (and a re-donation!) Depending on the prices, I would have purchased the black polka dot Alice and Olivia sweater (which I thought fit Lucy very nicely) and the black raincoat which would have been fantastic to wear over an occasion dress to an evening event (unless raincoat was heavily lined if so, I agree with the "pass"). A light jacket/coat can be very welcome when you are "trapped" at an event where someone has set the air conditioner to suit ice cream not people.
Ah yes, on the day of mourning here in Northern Ireland, everything pretty much was closed up, even with our rocky relationship with that kind of thing!

We have a place in Cornwall UK called Launceston; we pronounce it "lawn-ston" but the o is almost inaudible so it's just "stn" 😊 so fun hearing about places named the same in different parts of the world! Pretty sure Tasmania also has "Cornwall" ☺️
Because of convict things I think everywhere in Tassie (and a lot of Australia) have places named directly after places in the UK 😅

I behave been to tassie heaps (my parents are from Launceston and king island) but no one has a passion for thrifting as I do so if they let me in there I have 5 to 10 minutes and I must say it’s not worth it as I get really upset. I’m also legally blind so shopping usually takes WAY longer than that at good times lol

Please a flashing lights warning for fluorescent lighting. I was caught by surprise. My eyes hurt. Just like a mild fluorescent lights warning is ok for me. I have light sensitivity but not epilepsy. Tho others would appreesh the FLW as well I bet. I had to blink away the flashing lights on the screen from my eyes. Thank you. I love the video so far. Just needed to add that comment. 😅
