Ultimate classic luxury Ford for 56. The town and country radio availability was exclusive to this class. Chevy and Plymouth were not available with signal seeking radios. They were mostly found on upper end Olds and Buicks as well as Cadillacs and Lincolns. The wire wheel covers were period correct. This is an amazing vehicle.
Wow, is that gorgeous or what? Cars in the 50’s and 60’s were like jewelry, only better. No wonder there was so much excitement when new models were coming out. I can just imagine what it would be like to live in California back then, when it wasn’t so crowded and you could drive cars like this for months and they wouldn’t even get dirty. Sounds funny, but where I live cars are almost always filthy from dirty snow in the winter and bugs in the summer.
An identical one of these sat for 10 years at Hales service station in Erwin TN. They kept it clean and it went in the garage at closing time and days closed. This was in the 70's. I wonder where that car went.
Absolutely beautiful and sublime, stunning styling and design.
