I became interested in the taxonomy of humans and from there my interest piqued. This video was an excellent explanation of genus and species, and I liked the tree to understand that humans didn't COME from apes, but DIVERGED from a common ancestor creating different traits and newer species. A+

I totally love your video. Its thorough and well developed in covering an abundance of information. :)

Absolutely fantastic. Quite challenging, fast paced, but "hey" that's what replays are for. I encourage those like me who will forget much of what was presented here, to do as I do, watch it 2-3-4-5-6 times if necessary. After multiple repetitions you'll find the information has begun to coalesce in your brain more than you first realized. That's true of a lot of math hangups as well. The detail was great, the graphics were clear, and well planned, for visual association, and progression. As much as I love fun, and owls in particular, the owl is mostly pleasant, but a distraction. The picture in picture is fantastic. People naturally more readily identify with an embodied voice rather than a disembodied one. It creates a present reality, and presence that a voice only presentation lacks.
Can anyone tell me what level class this is, high school, undergrad ? If this is high school, I must say, I have a lot more respect for the young minds at that age that can master this. It gives me hope our species may survive after all. Keep at it. It's worth it. Thanks for sharing with us.

This is a really late reply, but the information is something you would learn in AP Biology, so they're college level classes that can be taken during high school.

Absolutely great lecture, very well organized and clear. Thank you very much.
Just one thing: the genus of the wolf is Canis, not Canus. From Latin canis, canis.

Phylogenesis and Phylogeny are different terms . Systematics' goal is to determine phylogenesis of a particular group

Before you had domain of eukarya,; when I was in school and in science class they taught us a good saying to remember this. To this day I remember the saying.
King Phillip Came Over For Good Spaghetti, just have to add domain or "Duh", in front.
