As a mother who just gave birth to a baby boy six weeks ago, this makes me sad. I can’t imagine how much this little guy’s passing hurt his parents. I know his body has gone on to teach a lot to medical students, but all I can think about is the pain his poor mother endured knowing that her sweet little baby was dead.

There is a whole series of babies in jars from the first pea-sized embryo to a full term stillborn. It was one of my favorite exhibits at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. I saw it for the first time on an Elementary school field trip. And I'm 67 years old now. Facinating exhibit.

I remember being in the womb, my birth and my entire childhood but my kids can't remember anything before the age of 5. When I was in the womb I felt absolute peace which is what people claim they feel during near death experiences! I also remember the doctor and nurses who were in the room delivering me and yes what I said is true. It's extremely rare but there are others in this world who remembers as I do, but it's funny how people think it's impossible and yet even in the womb before birth we have a brain and we are alive! We don't magically come to life at birth like people seem to think, we are alive long before birth!
I understand donating to science but I always feel so sad, especially with this little one❤. Losing a baby is so hard, and so many of their bodies are simply thrown in the trash or sold in underground markets.

There is a whole series of babies in jars from the first pea-sized embryo to a full term stillborn. It was one of my favorite exhibits at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. I saw it for the first time on an Elementary school field trip. And I'm 67 years old now. Facinating exhibit.

@@_A4A We May not know the story, and while it’s true everyone grieves differently, it still doesn’t seem likely to me that any grieving mother would truly be ok with their dead child being kept in a jar like this for the public. 😢I guess I just question the authenticity of the story of the donation behind this. Considering they have literal “baby factories” with artificial “wombs” now, it’s even possible it was artificially grown in a lab, sad to say.

I have memories of my time like that
I remember being in the womb, my birth and my entire childhood but my kids can't remember anything before the age of 5. When I was in the womb I felt absolute peace which is what people claim they feel during near death experiences! I also remember the doctor and nurses who were in the room delivering me and yes what I said is true. It's extremely rare but there are others in this world who remembers as I do, but it's funny how people think it's impossible and yet even in the womb before birth we have a brain and we are alive! We don't magically come to life at birth like people seem to think, we are alive long before birth!
Some of us can remember our birth 🙂

I understand donating to science but I always feel so sad, especially with this little one❤. Losing a baby is so hard, and so many of their bodies are simply thrown in the trash or sold in underground markets.
