This is one of the greatest short programs ever. The footwork, the music, the choreography, the sense of humor-Kurt was the coolest skater ever.
It is too bad he never skated it cleanly. This was the closest but the triple flip was pretty badly two footed, but even with the two footed flip I bet it comes atleast 3rd and possibly 1st (the presentaiton marks would be all 5.9s and some 6.0s for this, blowing away both Stojko and Urmanov) at the Olympics. Of course clean it would easily be 1st.
So great to watch him land those jumps and to have Scott Hamilton commenting--what could be better?
Does anyone have that FS? I remember it being kinda a mess and nerve-wracking. If I recall, turn out on the 1st 3A, Wonky landing on 3F, and 2nd 3A landed on his toe with possible touch down. Didn't Scott Hamilton or someone commentate on this? I feel like I saw this on tv when I was a kid. The SP was genius though.
Oh, Kurt is so dang cute! He was always one of my fav guys to watch. I LOVED his gorgeous triple axels and his fancy footwork. One of the best~
Thanks for the upload~
This legendary program and performance of Kurt, debuting this program and amazing fans and the skating world again with it......20 years ago already. Wow!
Interesting to see how much he smoothed out the choreography by the Olympics. This is brilliant but he made a lot of movements more subtle, cheekier by Lillehammer. One of the best choreographed programs ever done in men's skating
If only he did this in Lillehammer....
i swear every time that i see this video, I cannot help but notice the he lost the edge rather than his jump. He had the jump. I wonder how well those skates were sharpened. makes me wonder.
